Timely post for me, my standard schnauzer Bix was diagnosed with cancer last week. Hes been a great friend. Well take good care of him till its his time.
Bix, looks totally comfortable there "chillin" on the couch, John. What a great looking little partner you got there.Schnauzers are awesome , loving pups, that dont know their size....They think they are a HUGE dog, and love to play hunting! My wife's family has always had a couple of them.Rick.
Wow,Bix IS a big dog, John. Come to think of it,my wifes family actually has miniature schnauzers. Those are the ones I was thinking of when I said they think they are a bigger dog than they actually are.Rick.
I just lost my Giant Schnauzer of 12 years to bone cancer. It's tough, I know how you feel Brother but the 12 years I had him as my buddy it's worth the pain.
I'd love to have a giant. I don't know if I could talk the wife in to it.........

Nevertheless it is hardly fair To risk your heart for a dog to tear. When the fourteen years which Nature permits Are closing in asthma, or tumour, or fits, And the vets unspoken prescription runs To lethal chambers or loaded guns, Then you will find. Its your own affair But you be given your heart to a dog to tear. When the body that lived at your single will, With its whimper of welcome, is stilled (how still!). When the spirit that answered your every mood Is gone. wherever it goes. for good, You will discover how much you care, And will give your heart to a dog to tear. We be sorrow enough in the natural way, When it comes to burying Christian clay. Our loves are not given, but only lent, At compound interest of cent per cent. Though it is not always the case, I believe, That the longer weve kept em, the more do we grieve: For, when debts are payable, right or wrong, A short-time loan is as bad as a longSo why in Heaven (before we are there)
