I was flipping through some videos the other day, and saw this.  He has been a great representative for the dirt side of the sport, had no idea he had an "Italian" side to him.

Cool.  Looks like he better get on it quickly, if you catch my drift.

Couple of things... not a Falcone, the twin hydraulic dampers, the shape of the oil and gas tanks is different. Looks like an Astore to me. Also, not a "monoshock" - twin springs under the engine and twin hydraulic dampers.

Yeah, but I bet with a $1000 bucks and a day in the garage he can get an easy 140hp out of it.

Malcolm Smith: a regular guy who achieved greatness. After all these years, he remains a favorite. He always seems to be doing exactly what he wants to do. I bought an '86 XL600 in 1988 so I could indulge in items from the MSR Racing catalog. I'm not at all surprised he would take an interest in an old Guzzi...like Kenny Roberts with his gorgeous Bultaco Metralla. Cool old bikes are fun.

I really enjoyed his book.  I'm sure you will as well.  I enjoyed it so much I kinda felt like I'd cheated someone by only paying 30 bucks for it.
