I thought it was going to be about Scud's 701 Husky. Where did that go?

Ha... My Husky 701 is a 320 pound sport bike with knobbies. It went to Anza Borrego today, along with Temecula, Julian, and points between. ...and if by "where did that go?" you meant where on WildGuzzi? I've never timed myself on street rides, but I would not be surprised if I am faster on the 701 than on my Scura - on the tight stuff, not on the top end.
Lightweight sportbikes are great fun. And to add to my list of lightweights above... almost any supermoto.
I could be tempted to buy an FZR400 if I stumble upon one in good, original condition. They were such perfect handling track bikes that they are now hard to find.

The early eighties Honda MB-5 came a little too late for me (I�d grown too big for it), but I always thought it was a cool idea. 198 lbs, WET, 48� wheelbase, and a disc brake. It was really a nice little bike from a great period in Honda�s history.

I have always been fascinated with 50cc racing. Van Veen Kreidlers were unbelievably fast and agile...lusted after by every kid who ever rode a moped. It made 10hp (that’s 200hp per liter) from an engine designed for the street and had three overdrives. That�s Angel Nieto (13 World Championships and 90 GP victories) in the photo below:

MB5's have gotten too expensive. I've always wanted one but for the prices usually asked, I always end up buying something different like CT90's or Honda Passport's.
My father had Kreidler Florette when I was growing up. Absolutely beautiful little machine. It was like this one:

The last time I looked Kreidler still held several sub-80cc speed records. A Florette or a Honda S90 are both on my short list this year.

A lot of small displacement bikes are great fun, excepting changes in elevation. Combine stops on those hills and you'll be last man/woman in line. Shifting enough to stay with bigger displacement bikes can put a blister on your left big toe. BTDT+.

BTW: I believe my FZR400 weighs more than the V7 III Racer.

I'm currently trying to latch on to an Aprilia RS125. OK, so I'll look like a circus bear riding a tricycle but luckily I don't have to look at myself while riding it! :grin:
I actually drove down to Sydney to look at one last week but it was an incredible POS and its owner was a deranged fantasist. Michael, my off-sider, bought one to replace his ancient ZZR250 commuter bike which has now travelled 107,000km, (ZZR's have a reputation of all going 'Bang' at the exact moment the odometer ticks over to 100,000!) so it's on borrowed time and anyway it's a horrible motorbike! His RS is an absolute joy. He bought it off the previous owner as a non-runner. Not really surprising as it didn't have any petrol in it and the fuel tap didn't work! Fixed that, replaced the airbox the PO had ditched in favour of a pod filter :rolleyes: a bit of diddling with the carb, (It needs a new needle and atomiser still.) and it's a little ripper! Can't have the staff having more fun than the boss now, can we? :evil:
