NGC-Computer "Low Disc Space on Local Drive" warning

Windows 10 Dell desktop is intermittently telling me I have low disc space on drive l: and offers to help clean it up. Clicking on this drive in "This PC" reveals nothing is in there. In fact, I have two "drives" l: and K: that I have no clue what they're for. I expect to and do see C:, the hard drive on my computer, J:, my backup drive, and the CD-ROM drive. I've looked in every orifice on the computer for an errant thumb drive...there are none.

These periodic warnings about low disc space are getting aggravating. Check that. My inability to understand the issue is the real source of my aggravation. does anyone have any ideas/experience with this issue?

if nothing is on it.. format the disc and it will erase any files that are there but not showing up.. this can happen if you put stuff in the trash but don't empty the trash  before UN-mounting the disk.

I think that is supposed to be a hidden partition with no drive letter for that drive. An update screwed it up and un-hid it. You need to remove the drive letter and the problem will go away.
Google how to do that.

Those drives are for factory restoration and some spare space for building the system from the factory.  I'm not sure why you are getting the low disc space on one of those drives - they should be exempt from reporting.  Off the top of my head, I don't remember where the setting is to turn that off.  Unless someone else pipes up, I'd call Dell (support is, or used to be, open 24/7) and have them walk you through turning off that notification.

This is the problem and fix for what I was referring to. It may or may not be your problem. If the drive is a little less than a gigabyte then it is likely that is the problem.

Thanks to all for taking the time to respond. This did the trick. While I only deleted I: using the command prompt method described in the link, the mysterious drive K: also no longer appears when I click the"This PC" icon.
