What's your favorite Acronym ?

 I live in the world of government acronyms... Half the time trying to remember what each means...

BTW Many here are MGNOC or AMCA or AMCA...AARP....and on...SNAFU...DAMIDG AD...LMAO...ROFLMAO

Looking for new old/classic material... Or Go ahead and make new...
Love to hear some in Italian

SMIT. Google 'ibm smit' for details. Worst piece of smit I ever used. We used to say, "SMIT happens".

My older brother was a small town police officer during the 70's and 80's. When ask what was the most common problem he came across, his answer was always. People driving H.U.A. ( head up ass)

Yes I too came from a govt. world with acronyms, but sometimes they would be so confusing I would have to consult the OOOA.

Office of Official Acronyms.

TLA = Three Letter Acronym
I think it comes from NASA, an ETLA (Extended Three Letter Acronym)

Acronyms these days are getting too long for me!

DILLIGAF is pretty good, although there are some topics on which you do... How about G.U.T.S. (Guzzi Universal Timing System). When at university in the seventies, I joined the Australian National Union of Students (A.N.U.S.) at the Swan Hill Institute of Technology ('can't remember the acronym for that one)!

My favorite was from above the mantle behind the bar at the South Gate Tavern in Highland Falls, NY:

IITYWYBMAD
(If I tell you will you buy me a drink)

It cost me a shot of Jameson's to learn that one...

Just outside Albury which sits on the Victorian NSW border is a town called Ettamogah, that's nothing special in itself but it occurred to me that if spelled backwards it's an acronym for "Hagomatte" further translation for non Aussies it means "How are you going my friend". Just a theory...
