Although I think getting away from the Teutonic Bean Counters also known as VAG, I think will ultimately help Ducati.

I had a HD rider stop at my shop the other day who said he owned some HD stock , told me they sent out a letter about the buy out and swore up and down it was going to be a reality
So be on the lookout for the new heritage ducktail at a dealer near you

Harley's marketing know how could benefit Ducati.  Both brands sort of push the lifestyle thing albeit in different spins with two rather divergent customer bases.

One of the Motorcycle new feeds last week (maybe Motorcycle Daily) had two articles side-by-side - 1 addressing the woes being experienced by Harley and the state of their market.  The second was touting the unprecedented growth & success of Polaris/Indian and the strength of their state in their market.

I thought that was interesting.

Again I don't get these fluff pieces on the strength of Indian, they're not releasing sales data but you don't need a lot of hard numbers to know the reason Indian can boast percentages of growth is because their overall numbers are more like Guzzi than Harley.

It's real easy to grow 10% of 5k in annual sales, not so easy to grow 10% of 250k.

They released sales performance yesterday. Also last summer there was a recall on the Chief models, according to the notice about 19,000 bikes involved.

Even if the Motor Company's sales continue to decline, the Indian's signature front fender is a love/hate thing that will hold them back forever from coming anywhere close to the volume Harley Davidson moves.

Released sales performance in terms of percentages right? If you have actual hard numbers I've not seen them but would be interested.

Recall numbers sound like a good clue. But was the recall for a single model year? I'd be a little surprised if they are already at that level of sales, but it's not a bad thing.

Actually the one thing I said when Indian started having success was that Harley needed the push from competition, and I still think that's true.
