Chic Design Road Comet Classic fairing for V7
« on: July 24, 2017, 02:20:11 PM »
I am interested in getting one of these fairings for my V7II.  My question:

Does anybody know of any reason that a fairing designed specifically for a 2014 V7 wouldn't fit a 2016 V7II?  Are there any differences in the dash, headlight, front turn signals between the V7 and V7II?  I don't think their are, but the manufacturer says the fairing is for the latest V7 and they don't know if it will fit a V7II.  It is made in Japan.

That's the one.  The question is, will it fit a V7II?  The manufacturer does not know.

Unless they changed the size of the headlight bucket, looks like it should fit. Ti appears that the silver screws visible on the side go into the bucket and brackets.

alanp. As a side bar, the guys on the CB1100 forum love them. quite a few have them on their bikes. They are lookers, extremely well made, flawless paint and great customer service from Samurider. Note that there's a model 1 and a 2 configuration. One being an older version and 2 being the newer. The difference is one is more angular than the other. Not sure which version that applies to but try and find a pic of both for side by side comparison if you haven't already done that.

You call that a fairing?  I call it a 1/4 fairing.  The only part of your body that's going to be protected is your chest.  Is that what you want?  Go to www.Rifle.com if you want any real fairings for more protection.

Just bumping this up because I thought I asked a very simple question that tons of people here would be able to answer, but no answer?

 no one can answer because we are all too cheap to buy a 2016 model.... hasn't depreciated on the sales floor long enough.

I think Lorazepam answered your question: unless the headlight bucket has changed size it should fit. It's all about getting the headlight lens through the hole in the fairing. I have a 2013 with a quarter fairing. If you would like me to measure the opening or the lens I'll be happy to help out.
A fairing that size isn't likely to have any interior braces to muck up placement.

Yukonica,

Thanks.  A measurement of the width of the headlight bucket would be useful.  I am pretty sure it should fit, but am not sure of the differences between the bikes.

Also, what fairing do you have?

It should fit.  Buy it and try.  If not, just send it back!

Alan,

The headlight and brackets haven't changed.

Alan,

Inside diameter of the chrome retaining bezel is 6.75 inches. I'll wager yours is the same.

The fairing I have is by Valpolini. Bought it from Harper's.

Thanks guys.  I bought one.  I will hopefully have it mounted in time for the WG Western Adventure in Ouray!
