Review: Gasolina boots
« on: July 25, 2017, 01:51:39 AM »
I'll start with a disclaimer. I don't work for gasoline Boots, I fly jets for a living. With that said I had discovered this small niche company called "Gasolina." They are located in Mexico.
They make some of the finest, most comfortable boots I have ever had on my feet, street boots include. I have had a pair of their "Typhoon" boots" for a few years now and I originally had these handmade to my specs because I wanted a retro/Lineman style boot
to wear while riding my collection of mid-70's bikes that I have, (*Mostly for the 74 Norton.) Once I started wearing these Gasolina boots I used them for all my long distant rides because I could wear them all day and have zero foot fatigue at the end of the day.

I did use some waterproof, (leather shield) for the boots and I only got caught once in rain and they held up without fanfare. They have a very nice "Shift patch" of leather on the top of each boot: *Pix 2. I am sure these are not rated on any scale for
protection but the high quality leather used and the "Combat durability feel" you get when you wear these inspire confidence.

There are many styles and I just received my second pair and opted for the "Autobahn" style. Since I wear these over my Dainese pants "gauntlet" style, I had the circumference of my calf included and they hand make these to those specs, (*On their website.)
Now, I do have a few fast bikes, (MV Augusta F4, MV Augusta 800 Brutale RR) and I use a Dainese "Course D1 Out" boot for that kind of extreme riding.

It is rare to find handmade goods that use high quality material and craftsmanship at these prices. There are many motorcycle boots to choose from and I am sure opinions abound as to which is best, etc. Comfort, style, durability, my money is with gasolina.

Happy to agree with you, Skyguyz.  My wife bought a pair, followed the online sizing guide, and received a perfectly fitting pair of red boots.

Lots of people agree ... if you type "Gasolina" into the WG search box, you'll find dozens of threads about these boots, although there are a few who don't like them or had trouble getting them.

Never tried them myself, but they look nice.   Between my Gaernes, my Sidi Aerostich Combat Touring, and my Timberland boots, though, it'll be a while before I'm in the market ....

Fay needs a pair, though, she wore her Sidis completely out on our last long tour, so I'll send her a link ...

Link doesn't work...

Seems like the boots should be labelled Carrera, rather than Autobahn...consider ing the famous Carrera Panamericana (source of Porsche's naming convention) would be closer to home in Mexico.

Will be interesting to see how they are priced next time I am down in Guadalajara compared to prices here...

Thanks for the review!

I'm sure the Gasolinas are fine but for less money you could buy the originals, still made by people you can talk to on the phone in Long Beach CA

A very good option indeed. I would like to say that the folks at Gasolina are very prompt in answering questions and sending UPS tracking numbers. Never an issue with communications.
