WG Forum Navigation Issues
« on: June 24, 2017, 08:58:28 AM »
Could be I am losing my mind, but I think there may be issues with the site Navigation. When logged out, I can get to the general category, and bike builds areas. When I log in, the Navigation defaults to the archives pages, as I can't seem to get out. The only way I can get into the general category and classified sections, is to tap in using a link from one of the email notifications, then I can move around from there.

Clear your browser's cache, that'll probably clear it up.

Maybe the Russians are considering swapping their Urals, for Guzzi's?

Try another browser?  Like Chrome, Firefox, etc.

Love your tagline "If it ain't broke, I'll break it."

Following up on this since I'm now able to test it with a regular computer instead of my phone, tried IE11 and Firefox, same issue. Something is definitely not right with the navigation I think.

Screen shots of before logging in and after. Even when logged in, and I make my way to a thread using a link in email (or looking at my past post), then when I click in general discussions from the top left of the forum (Wildgoose Chase Moto Guzzi » General Category » General Discussion »), it pushes me out the Archives pages (like the post login image shown below).

This started late last week for me.

Here's a possibly related problem I've been seeing lately:

May not be the case in the instances you encounter, but in my experience that is the signal that the OP or mods deleted the thread.

In this instance, you may indeed be correct. I'm now unable to find the thread that brought on that result. Thanks.

I didn't man to hijack Groover's thread...I assume he still needs a fix for his issue.

Hey Groover, Looks like on your screenshot of Post Log In, go to your General category line and to the right, expand Unread Posts. Should bring up all current posts.  Sounds like one of your settings was changed , probably those pesky russkies

Ok, thanks guys. I can work with this if it's just on my end, just not working right still I don't think.

What happens when you guys click on the "General Category" (boxed in red in the image)? - It takes me to the page with the list of Archives (like the post logon image), whereas it would take me up to late last week to the page showing the main subcategories (General Discussion, Bike Builds and Rebuilds, Classifieds, etc).

nyITguy - no worries on hijacking (which you didn't), and I appreciate and tips even if they are about which is the best hammer out there...

Happens inconsistently.

We have only deleted a couple of threads over the last several weeks . That message will also show up if one of us is merging topics , which we have done quite a bit lately . There were four separate threads started on the new Yamaha touring bike alone .
