Spent a quiet few minutes taking pics and saying a short prayer at the Old City Cemetery.

Starting search for a fellow guzzita whose Grandfather immigrated here in 1870's.

Many of graves above ground because of very shallow water table.

Yellow wild flowers are Coreopsis, they bloom every Spring.

Volunteering with the Beach Patrol today on this busy holiday weekend.

Traffic is snarled.  .5 million expected on Island.

One drowning on unguarded beach.

On lighter note, saw this "highly modified " Old Smokey Grill.

Legs cut from Suburban luggage rack.  Tailpipe extension chimney and handle from chipping hammer.

Folk art and functional.

Well, today sucks because I'm back at work but Saturday was great!  My daughter and I left at the crack of dawn (8am actually) and drove to Longmont to pick up this Baby Breva from MotoGeezer.  Nice ride home on the backroads and I think I'm really going to enjoy this.  It's only my second Goose as my Cali has served me well since 2001.  I'm not going to miss the additional 150 pounds of the Cali, but I might miss the plush seat.

Wonderful Dusty (as I'm sure you are). Nothing MG. Instead I had a lovely ride on the Panther. Perfect weather, empty roads, inspiring bike.  Life in the slow lane  :thumb:

Sorry to hear that Dan sold the Breva. They had many happy years together.

Dan, if you see this, let us know what you're riding now.

We had a lovely weekend -- planted several trees and cooled off on the motorcycles. The south porch of the barn was collapsing so I used the Harbor Freight motorcycle lift to jack it up and shore up the old stumps used as supports. Then cleaned up the deck, equipped it with sofa and rocking chair and Guzzi banner. All set for Top of the Rockies in July.

Seth,  Can't speak for Dan, but I think he is taking a hiatus from riding as he and his wife are planning a move to Arizona as soon as his house sells.  Wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't pick up something down there once he's settled in.

Dan tells me he's having complex eye surgery and the future of riding depends on the outcome. And the move to Arizona . . .

We were sharing stories about eye surgeries.  I'm going in tomorrow to get one eye redone, then the other one next Thursday.  Mine is not as complex as his though. Wishing him the best!

A beautiful dawn on Galveston Island, but a sad day.  One of our lifeguards was killed while riding his bike earlier in the week.  He was a college student from Columbia (South America) that comes every Summer to earn money for his college expenses.

Today we honored Marco Antonio with a "paddle out" ceremony.

We gathered on the beach in reverence as his parents looked on.

Then paddled out to throw our leis on the water, hoping that the ocean's currents will carry Marco to his final resting place.

He came to our small island to protect us.

May he rest in peace.

It rained hard Saturday night (good for the firefighters) and thunderstorms again Sunday, so the roads are washed clean. Before it gets hot again Gail wanted to a ride so we packed a lunch and rode over Grand Mesa to Powderhorn ski area. At 11,000 feet over the Mesa temp went down to about 55 Fahrenheit with a strong south wind.

Beautiful day. Downhill going home, it was 65mph into a 30mph wind -- still and quiet behind the miraculous SP fairing.

Looks like I remember it.    First time I rode those roads, I almost went off half-a-dozen cliffs rubbernecking at the incredibly scenery ....

Sitting at the keyboard jet lagged and tired having just come back from first doing 8 days babysitting the youngest grand daughter in Singapore, followed by 13 days in Vietnam, mainly because getting to Singapore is the expensive part and we able to score a very well priced special on a 10 day (budget) tour to do the Vietnam bit. Loved it. The ability to handle a small motorcycle by the Vietnamese population is incredible, and great fun to watch. Just about all the bikes are 130cc or under, with the odd 250 in the mix. I saw 1 KTM Adventurer, heard 1 multi winding up, and heard 1 Harley sounding bike.

Was wandering the streets of Old Hanoi when the owner of a small bike shop comes over with the old "you want to buy bike?" I pointed to the Guzzi badge on my cap and said "I already have one" His face lit up, said "ah, Moto Guzzi" (perfectly pronounced) and then regaled me on where the best places were to ride one. It was certainly not on the streets of Hanoi or Saigon!

Depends what they were being used for before I guess..... :undecided:

NZ has never had a flat top so I guess doing skids on squids was not a common pastime in the NZ navy.

Today the set of levers that I had ordered from AliExpress arrived.

I had broken the end off the clutch lever when the bike did a stationary lie down when my short legs didn't make the ground because of a dip where I had stopped. When my left leg did make contact it was on pea metal, and with my dodgy hip....

A set of levers was not much more than a single clutch lever, and these are foldable, adjustable and extendable, theoretically in 6061 and CNC'd.  The levers are in black, with the adjustment lever and the extendable piece done in red (to match the Breva). They look real sharp and feel nice, and they fitted perfectly. :thumb:

I will now be able to retire the piece of telephone cable that I had wedged between the clutch lever and the body just so I could reach the lever with my short stubbie fingers. It has done 25000 miles of stirling service: I didn't cry though when I consigned it to the trash. The new levers look much more professional. :thumb:
