Guzzi rocks, who's on board?
« on: June 16, 2018, 05:12:09 PM »
I'm 51,  been riding road bikes for 35 years, and hands down it's the most fun I have had on a motorcycle!
I love my Italian beast, how about you?
Single to  Scura! They all cry out fun!

I'm 62.  Been riding overall for 50 years and on the street for 47 years.

Minibike up to a Harley Electra Glide.

Most reliable bike I ever had was a Victory. Most comfortable for a long distance run was the Electra Glide.

Most fun is my current little small block Guzzi!

A nice light 2013 V7 Stone.

I’m older than dirt.  Started riding in 1968.  Mostly Hondas into this century.

First Guzzi (2006 Griso) in 2013.  Currently on my 6th one. (It’s an incurable disease)

I'm 72 and have owned 8 bikes over the years, including Zundapp, Triumph, Yamaha, KTM and the two Guzzi's in my current stable.  My squeeze at the moment is the smallblock V50II, recently refreshed, lightly cafe'd and modernized.  I've owned it since purchase in Albuquerque NM in 1980.  It's even more fun to ride than my KTM 390 Duke.  Woo-hoo!!

I've had well over a dozen Guzzi, loved them all especially the V11 Lemans but hands down the most fun was a Buell Uly.  You've heard that from me before... remember that song "It's all about the base"? well it was all about the wheelbase and the torq.

I'm old, and I have been having a blast on Guzzis since 1971. It doesn't look like it will end anytime soon either.

Got my first bike in 64 a Honda 65cc sport. My neighbor took his pipe bender and made me straight pipe like a chopper or the day and I took an old tv antanna and Jose clamped it on the back for a sissy bar. I had watched BORN LOOSERS, with Tom Loften, the first Billy Jack movie. I have rode many brands but my last two have Guzzis and I’ve never looked back.

I'm 51 and a year and one week ago I didn't have any bikes, now I have six.  Anni is by far my fave for low traffic country tooling, Gigi is excellent for in town anything, and Miri perfect for a quick ride to the cafe, or store.

I gotta admit that despite being a fickle old  bike tart, the Guzzi gives me that special vibe. I'm always grinning that secret smile. I will temper it by saying that "when my Guzzis ran correctly, they were my favorites."  I have had faster bikes, more reliable bikes, sometimes even better lookin bikes. Nothing tops a good running Guzzi at full song.

I'm 48. Been riding since I was 12, starting out on a Honda Trail 70. Only Guzzi since 1996. I'm riding the 10th Guzzi I've owned. My hands down, no nonsense, absolute 110% favorite is the MGX I ride today.  Handles great, looks great, runs fantastic and I just can't seem to get off the darn thing. Even senseless trips to the store for unneeded milk are conjured up just so I can ride. My car has been sitting so long that I think I need to put a battery tender on it.

Rode with a couple buddies the other day on other brands and got bored. I honestly believe these bikes are the best handling on the planet. Either that, or I'm just an impatient maniac when I climb on board.  I'll go with option 1.

Well, this forum IS a Guzzi site so I suspect most here do believe that Guzzis do indeed 'rock'.

As much as I've enjoyed my big blocks I must admit I'm liking my V7 III most. I even switched off Guzzi for a while but came back. They're friggin' addictive.

My '10 Cafe Classic is my first Guzzi.  I found it while looking for a Triumph Scrambler to turn into a thruxton because of the 270 degree crank.

What appealed to me right off the bat was the look, and then the drive shaft.

My first street bike was the XS750 triple with shaft drive.  It is nice not having to mess with a chain and the mess that chain lube makes on the bike.

I love that it is a bike that is fun to ride at or just a little above the speed limit.  I have had bikes that could easily double the recommended speed limit and they quickly become boring when riding near the speed limit.

I feel the same way about cars.  My next sports car will most likely be the new Miata RF when they finally put the Recaro seats in it.

I've reached that point in my life where I appreciate the sensation of speed at more sane speeds than the lack of sensation of speed until you are really flying!

No one can argue successfully that they do not indeed "rock"
Pop your bike in neutral and give the throttle a twist, and the "rock" will be easily discernable.
