For your Guzzi bits, visit MOTOFORNITURA. Via Parodi, 29 MANDELLO.

If they don't have it, it doesn't exist! It's only a coupla blocks from the factory, easy to find, right on the corner!!

We're staying here again.  Owner and chef is pictured above.  His last name is La Franconi.  He owns a small block Breva.

Sali e Tabacchi is the name of his restaurant.

Just realized the title of this thread may be misleading.  We will arrive in Mandello in 2 weeks, but staying only 4 nights.

Motofornitura means 'motorcycle supply', so the full name for the shop is Motofornitura Valassi, or just Valassi. It's definitely on the list of must-see places in Mandello.  Last time I was there I helped an Australian fellow buy some electrical switches for his V7 Sport.  They don't speak English but they have all the parts books so if you need to, pointing works!

LaFranconi seems to be a pretty common family name in Mandello, and I'm sure they are related.

This is Jill and our friend Sandra the first night in Mandello with Gabriele, owner-chef at the hosteria we stayed (around the corner from Fredrick Barbarossa's tower).  It was his day off.  It was our first night in town.  He'd just returned from a ride with his ex-pat Brit friend on a Norton and he on the Breva.  They'd ridden up to the pass at the Swiss border.  I'd just walked down to the Guzzi factory and gotten the lay of the land.  He decided to make dinner for all of us!!!

Is it behind the factory?  (not good at the religion thing... but I did say WOW! when I pulled the GTV primary and first saw those beautiful helical gears.)
