Illinois Repair Options..Referral Please
« on: June 18, 2018, 10:39:29 PM »
Tonight, on my home, I was hit while riding California 1400 Touring. I’m going to live, my neck & shoulder are sore & my ankle had some skin forcibly removed but overall, I’m pretty lucky.
I don’t think the bike is totaled but it will need some professional help. There isn’t a dealer anywhere close to me so I’m sure it will have to be trailered somewhere. Is there a good dealer that someone would recommend & has actual experience with? It will be an insurance job & the bike has all of 3300 miles on it so I will want it to be perfect. Thanks for any help.

Kevin

I'm glad you survived in one piece, presumably with little damage to your person.  Take care and heal quickly.

Yikes!

It's good that you are writing about it.  Heal well.

Rose Farm used to be well spoken of in this forum.  I've read nothing about it recently.

Rose Farm is no longer a Guzzi dealer , no idea if they will even touch a newer bike .

Hes doing 8V rollerizations, so he ought to work on a 1400 too.

From his website:

“Jim Barron is a long time, acknowledged expert on Moto Guzzi and BMW motorbikes. With a 30+ year history in the motorbike industry, and having achieved master technician status with major manufacturers, you are assured that equipment presented for services are given world class attention”.

Worth a call. I’m told he’s a top notch Guzzi wrench.

:1:   :1:  Jim B. is as good as you'll find.  Call him and tell him your problem and that you need to have your bike fixed and the work done correctly.
