Paint Code for 2015 V7 Racer
« on: March 03, 2016, 11:59:31 AM »
Hi Everyone.  I have a 2015 V7 Racer and want to powder coat my valve covers the same color as my Red frame.  Does anyone know the paint/color code?

Thanks,
Dave

Guzzi has paint codes?

Dave,

We would all like Guzzi to publish paint codes.

Your best bet is going to be having a local PPG place scan the paint on your bike and get a close match.

If I'm not mistaken the frames on the Racers are translucent red over silver base.  At least that's what Guzzi has done in the past to achieve a similar look on the V11 Sport / LeMans of the mid 00s.

Thanks everyone.  I called my local dealer and they said the code is "Frame, Red".  Lotta good that does.  Yes, I'll have to have it matched, but if it's not right on the money, it might look stupid.

Well...I never found a "code" but found something pretty darn close.

Now if I could just get that Stucci Luigi fairing that I ordered over 4 months ago.

Stucch went bust in 2014. Doug sez they are trading again in a different form but they were a big organization and left a lot of people out of pocket when they went tits up. I'd imagine anything they now order will be cash-up-front from suppliers so you might be in for a long wait.

I have been in regular contact with them.  They are now LGC.  http://lgccompany.it/en/  They had a quality problem with the supplier of the fairing, though LGC paints it and makes the bracket.  The new supplier has been shipping fairings, and I've just been waiting in line for mine.

I'd say that's worth every dime for the results you achieved.  :thumb:  Got me considering that now.

Well...  LGC (formally Stucchi Luigi) came through.  I got the fairing last night.  They re designed the bracket to be shorter, lighter and easier to install.  Looks awesome!

Hi,

I love how the valve covers have come up.   Very nice work :) :)   I have been thinking of doing the same, so all the comments on this page have been very helpful.   I am thinking of starting off with just the black plastic spark plug covers in red to see how that looks.  Just working on the colours you provided in one of your posts.   Given they are plastic, I will need to paint them rather than powder coat them.   Do you think this would work on the plastic, given that its original colour is black?  https://www.homedepot.com/p/Alsa-Refinish-12-oz-Candy-Apple-Red-Killer-Cans-Spray-Paint-KC-AR/204102257   All comments welcomed.   Thanks   Don

I had my spark plug covers sprayed by professional painter and we decided on Mazda 3 'Soul Red'.   Came up pretty damn close :)
