When I was working, I was in a business where, if I'd wanted to continue to work at a low, stress-free level for tobacco money, I would have had to sign up as a consultant with a "bodyshop" firm, and plan on doing traveling, etc.   I declined to do that and am enjoying retirement very much, so much so that I highly recommend it to anyone who is able.

BUT I really think that if I (that's me, not Steve) had the skills, tools, and customer base that guzzisteve has, I would set up my own little shop, work at the pace I wanted to, take on or decline whatever jobs suited me, and make a few dollars on the side.   I'm not complaining, mind you; between pension and savings, we've got plenty to live on, but a dude can always find a use for a few extra dollars just to play with .....

In any case, here's wishing the best to guzzisteve and may all your futures be pleasant ones!

I guess there are a few people in the States who will be lamenting that.

Happy retirement Steve. I can personally recommend it. :thumb:

Saw him flying his chair through the grounds last night !! (nice sounding side-car setup)

Well, if he's newly retired and finds he's spending $ faster that way than he anticipated........ he may come out of it and go into semi-retirement for something to do or to bring in some extra income.  :clock:

Sorry, couldn't wait for everyones bike to get worked on. Times up!! City traffic killed me, it's only a matter of time if I keep driving in it. I learned how to sit still and not spend any $ on the farm. Been poor all my life and still have most of it left for retirement, mostly cause of my job working on Guzzi's. Didn't raise a family like everyone else, wanted to play on bikes instead and had a blast doing it. Time to go riding by the cows & the corn not by the cars. How's that saying go "You can take the boy off the farm but not the farm out of the boy"
I would rather ride  up to Dustys in OK than another 10min in Cobb or Gwinnett Co traffic.

I don't think they grow in GA red clay. They don't even grow a tri-mix hay here only grass hay.

Commuting traffic was a significant factor in my retirement plans. Avoiding traffic is a significant factor in my post retirement plans.  :)
