Looking forward to it, and getting the Eldorado cleaned up for the trip, if I was a brave man (and I am not) the V7 Sport would be making the trip, just don't think my back or knees can take the Sport for a week.

I booked my room and it looks like several other locals are going to attend as well.

Is there a way to pay for the rally online?

'ey Chuckie......youse been to the air museums out there?  Tillamook and Evergreen?  If not I'd suggest it.

Someone recently told me that the Tillamook collection was mostly gone.  A big disappointment because they had some very cool aircraft and that dirigible hanger is awesome!

It seems that at least some of the planes have gone to Madras which is better than the soggy northwest coast for preservation AND much closer to John Day.

Looking forward to meeting so many that are on WG

Thanks for that, SED.. I'm not much of a warbird guy, but I'd love to see that Bellanca. We'll see how the trip pans out.

Thx for updating.  Sad about the dirigible hanger not being used anymore.  Loads of history.

Rally Update,   Here's the Rally Logo for the Pin, T-shirts, Hats, and patches. The shirts are done, and they look great. Things are set for some fun field games. Looking forward to a great rally. Don't forget, May 25 is the pre-entry deadline for the Rally.
Hope you can make it.  :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:    :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

First post for me..

Traded my Aprilia for Motoray's 2002 Stone.. Talk about moving back in time.. (Many of the road signs out that way say so too)

I ride out here all the time, and there are great roads.. If you guys run up 395 (More great roads farther up) to Long Creek, head over to Monument, Kimberly,Spray, Fossil (Lunch at RJ'S) on to some of the Fossil beds, is one route to check out.. Here is one picture my sister took at their place out of Spray..

I did not have the best one.. Flat tire coming into Condon, Or... Nice people out there, helped me get into town.. First car stopped, and offered her husband to help get me going. They are all like that in this part of Oregon. So different then the I-5 corridor I could of came back 207 down to Spray, (pretty this time of year) but was going back Fossil, when it got squirrelly (80 mph)

These pics are some of that ride..  It's coming out of Heppner then southwest to Condon. Lot of open road up there. Goes into this type of terrain.

The last pic is where I live.. BLM is up the street.

If you want to explore there is many different things to look at.. Great roads like I said..

Paul, if you are going as far north as Lolo Pass, you should go over Beartooth Pass as well. If you stop in Red Lodge, there is a brewery. Be sure to ride the Spiral Highway  in Lewiston Idaho. And then south into Oregon on WA 129. You lucky guy!

I am tempted to do that route again...I did Beartooth and Red Lodge a couple years ago coming out of Cody and the Chief Joseph highway .truly worth repeating!  I spent a few hours in Red Lodge drying out a bit as it was somewhat wet over the pass...will see if I get luckier on the weather this time around!

I did Chief Joseph, Beartooth, to Red Lodge a couple or three years ago myself. This year, I'll go the other direction from Red Lodge,  Beartooth to Yellowstone.  :thumb:

Wonderful!  Thinking I'll do Lolo on the way back departing from John Day and then do the same...Red Lodge, Bearttooth, Chief Joseph...I'd like to stop in Jackson, but I have a feeling getting thru Yellowstone at that time might be stop and go with RV's, so may take the longer way around before finding a twisty way back.

Last time I came back the day after labor day and basically had the park to myself, down to the Tetons, stayed in Jackson, then down to Flaming Gorge/Vernal and across Colorado to Black Canyon before the long trek across Texas.  Poring over maps to see what looks like some other fun routes this time.

New tires on the way...should be ready for a nice 5000 miler here in a few weeks...what fun!!!

It's on the way up to Lolo.  Take 95 North then cut back across to Deary.  Right hand in town and hook up with a county road that's a one laner to Dvorshak Dam go to Oroville.  Then north to Lolo.  All back country riding.  Safe paved roads.  Most times you'll be the only vehicle on the road.  You can also hit Palouse Falls on the way east.  Great roads going there to.  It's also a State Park and you can camp there.  Cheap.

This is probably our last "earthlings"  trip out west, so we're going to bite the bullet and do Yellowstone. Never have been there.. no doubt need to. The rest of the roads you're talking about.. BTDT, would do it again.  And again, if there was time.

I've avoided Yellowstone because of the summer traffic.  Most likely I'll never go there.  It's also the same for the Road to the Sun.

Yeah, I understand the traffic issue, but it's probably our last chance to go without making a special trip.
