In the last 7 years I have ridden to Datil in mid-August...it ALWAYS rains in the late afternoon!! (But never lasts long...)

Made it!!! Gorgeous as usual...

Stayed last night at Oasis State Park Portales. NM...rattlesnakes, thunderstorms, coyotes, Clovis AFB pilots practicing IFR ALL NIGHT LONG, was only person in campground, 50 mph wind gust

Got here 11:00 MST after 300 miles of AMAZING US-380 from Hondo, NM to Socorro,NM...last year's giveaway bike made it back this year w/new owner...you guys really oughta be here!

Looks like great fun as usual! Did the VLA detect an anomaly in the electrical field as 30 Guzzis rolled on by!? :)

The Yellow beast looks like it was flogged a bit on the way there...only 36 mpg...sounds like some triple digit cruising was involved! ha ha!

Not really, vintage Guzzi's, in general, are quite thirsty little buggers!! Most of the trip, I only cruised at 75-80 mph....

I try NOT to FLOG the poor 20-year old horse...However, I did a couple of times "EXCEED THE TON" when conditions allowed

...and the motor sounded GREAT!!!

This was an interesting "build" - - Griso motor in a Breva 1200 Sport frame...

The owner said it fit like a glove and the only modification was with the instrument panel.

This old Eldo "Police Bike" won "BEST OF SHOW" as voted by the 89 attendees...It was a beauty...New Mexico rider!

Really made me think I should get one in the near future. Great RALLY bike!!
