Ride to Work Day
« on: June 18, 2018, 11:15:19 PM »
My Aerostich spam has been informing me over the past few weeks that today is Ride to Work Day. It's also a day I happened to have off, and I found myself on the south coast of Oregon, a couple hundred miles away from the office. I did, however, need to swing by the office on my way home to get my laptop so I could work from home tomorrow. So ride to work I did, including about 80 twisty miles through the Coast Range.

On the down side, the office building was locked by the time I got there, so tomorrow I guess I'll ride to work too, just like most normal days.

Do I really have to ride to work??

I don't really want to......mainly because I would have to get a job.

Does riding to the athletic club count?

You could ride somewhere and watch other people work. Then, when that gets too exhausting, ride some more.

I rode in the rain and was the only bike in the ramp, normally more than a dozen..
It rained again today but there was a couple other bikes, this one had no rear fender.

My ride to work day was like any other.....because I ride to work most everyday!

I do wuss out when it rains. I love riding in the rain...just not to work.

I think it's a good promo..anything that promotes riding as more than just recreational is OK by me.

Ride safe and often.....

Every workday is a Ride to Work day for me.  Rain, shine, hot or cold, year round, non-stop.  I am stoopid that way.

Then on weekends I like to take off and go riding!

I went to where I used to work but I don't like riding the bike in ATL traffic. Had the air & tunes on. Next day for Guzzi parts is awesome. So is their parts guy.
I'll ride tomorrow.

If I didn't commute in the rain, I wouldn't get much chance to ride. I do enjoy it, though.

That said, today's commute was 92 degree heat (in full gear, of course). Not quite ice pack weather, but close.

A day late, but I rode my V7 to work for the first time this morning! 80 degrees. It'll probably be over 100 on my way home...

Every day without ice on the road is ride to work day.

Well, sure, 25' as the crow flies. Take the back roads.

Fair enough, I suppose. My commute today is a basement stairway with a tight 90-degree turn at the bottom. On my lunch break, however, I may find some pretext to ride 20 miles to the store 3 blocks away.

Just finished an upgrade to the fluid pump drive on my Convert, so in between rain showers got it out for a test ride around the 'hood. Happy now?

Like Swede, every day is ride to work day - don't even own a car (though I admit to sealing my wife's on occasion).

On the actual day, I only noticed one other bike. Maybe G-mail ate the memo...
