Glad to see you're well enough to get online, and that there was no organ damage. Been there with the cracked ribs. Don't cough, don't sneeze, don't let the pain grind you.

I must be confused - I thought you were supposed to tell amusing stories around people with rib injuries.

That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

Cracked ribs is a real bummer. I cracked 3 or 4 a fews years back on a Beemer, my only bike accident. I'll never forget that I woukd have to roll off the bed or couch to my hands and knees then stand up because I couldn't sit up from a lying position.
You know it's an eye opening thing for us all. Just a couple days before Marks accident he fixed an issue with with my 1400 tourer and from thousands of miles away. I told him to stay safe because if I didn't have him I wouldn't have a guzzi. Dang, I won't tell nobody that again:(

Sounds healable, but a lot of bother. I hope it works out well!

You'll likely want to remove that titanium rod after a while. Mine was removed after a year, it's lying in a drawer somewhere.

Glad to see you are out of the woods.  With a titanium rod in "it", guess you won't need Viagra when you get to be my age.

That pretty much applies to everything.

Glad you're back among us. I can think of a few titanium jokes but the last thing you probably want to do is laugh with those ribs. Be a good patient and follow doc's orders now.

And don't skimp on the medicine!

Decades ago my father taught me that I have to take the meds otherwise I take to long to heal.

and I take my meds often     :boozing:

Welcome to the club, dear brother in titanium!

Glad to hear you're mending... still waiting for a report on what caused this and what is the outcome of your bike?

The good news is, you're still here to tell us, and for that I am grateful!  :thumb:

Hope all the surgeries are done and every day is an improvement.  As bad as cracked ribs are, I remember them healing pretty quick, hopefully that is not me blocking out the pain and it’s true.

Titanium is a cool material.  Bone actually fuses to it and it’s almost a mirical how the body accepts it.

Good luck!
