Back to Arkansas and Missouri Advice Please (pics added)

Hey kiddos, your kind and good advice last year for my first trip to the Ozarks was fantastic.  My bud and I stayed mainly to Ouachita and Ozark National Forests.  Jasper Disaster was, I believe, possibly the greatest route I've ever driven on a motorcycle.  Mt. Judea very pretty area.  Anyhow, this time around we are going to be based in Mountain Home and will explore the northern roads near the Missouri border and so forth.  We'll have a full three days of riding in Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday before leaving back for KY.  I have a good Butler map to assist but advice here is generally even better.

Push Mountain road just out side of Mountain Home is good. Arkansas publishes a route guide for paved and other wise roads that is good. Have fun.

You’re talking about my playground. After “the push” head for the Peel ferry and take 125 north into Missouri. At oldfield, mo take state hy. T it has fresh asphalt down to UU. H from Chadwick to Forsyth is good too. Anything around and to the east of bull shoals lake is good stuff.

If you’re dual sport rider the glade top trail can be accessed off of 125 also. The mill tour is good too. Hogston mill, zanoni mill, topaz mill, and rock bridge has a great braised trout.

I actually do ride a dirt or gravel trail occasionally - rode a 27 mile stretch there in Arkansas last time I was there, can't remember the name; however, I'll be riding the whole trip with my bud who is on a K1200R  so probably no dirt nor dual.

For future reference, the glade top is a great ride. all gravel from Mo.125 over to Ava, Mo. Great country especially when the leaves are turning. The main stretch is nice smooth gravel, but you can get to trails that are pretty challenging.

The ride down to the Rush Historical Site is neat. An old Zinc mine from the late 1800's. Take the 412 west out of Mountain Home to 14 south, about 10 miles hang a left at the sign.  After you hit Rush take 14 back north on to the Ferry at Peel, as was mentioned above.

Guzzistajohn is one of the authorities, as he has explored them all and is up to date on the little known, less traveled, and recently paved Ozark goodness.

In SW Missouri, one of my favorite routes is 90 between Washburn and Noel.
The best part of riding a motorcycle is to tilt the horizon and to lift the front coming out of a corner and to drift the back end powering thru loose dirt and to catch a little air topping a hill and... yeah it's all good!

Highway 90 is pretty far west of Mountain Home, but it is a great stretch of road.

The suggestion for 125 and the Peel ferry is good one also.

Well, I don't have much 'sperience, I didn't start backroading the Ozarks until 1977  :undecided:

I live just off of hwy 90 about 2 miles on KK highway between Washburn and Jane. We're very lucky to have this stretch of road for sure. Next time you're in the area, holler at me and I'll tag along.

I live in Mountain Home. Push Mountain can have lots of gravel on the curves so watch out. I like riding Push from South to North. Highway 5 south out of mountain home south of Calico Rock find Highway 9. and hang a left at the gas station/café.. Good place to eat. That is a nice ride. Make your way back to Norfolk and find the Norfork Brewing Company. open Friday and Saturday, Awesome Stout.

I've been getting reports Push Mtn. has a bunch of gravel now, but I didn't want to rain on anyones parade. A friend from Mt. Home meets me to ride 125 and Christian & Taney county roads because of the Arkansas chip & seal.

Can't say I've seen any chip seal but I don't get out as much as I would like to. I think 126 comes down toward my area but I'm new to the area too, so I don't have all these road numbers down yet. I think if you find a two lane road in the Ozarks it's gonna be a fun road, I know of a couple single lane that are a blast but not after a rain.

Maybe my definition of chip & seal is incorrect. I should say  "loose crap that spoils your fun" But I'm tellin' 'ya T hwy out of Oldfield, Mo is smooth as glass right now.

I see highway 125 and T are connected by highway Uu. Looks like that would be a fun ride too. Only motorcycling folks I've come across are the uniform parade, poker ride crowd. Then again I read that South Dakota is the most introverted state in the union and I'm just a product of my upbringing. I don't get out much.

Leaving Arkansas today heading back home.  Once again, a     thoroughly amazing journey and once again I will say that if you are just talking roads, just talking sheer joyful, near constantly entertaining roads, nowhere upon nowhere comes close to Arkansas.  It's like every damn local road everywhere was designed with motorcyclists in mind.  Just bonkers nuts.  And yes, unfortunately as opposed to near everyotherroad we drove, Push Mountain is a total dangerous mess RightNow.  Gravel in almost every turn and general pavement itself greatly needing.

It was bliss 20 years ago, when they put the new pavement down.

I've only ridden it a few times, because it's at the limit of what we do on a Sunday Ride from Fayetteville.

And, all the roads getting there are so awesome, going all the way to Push Mountain is kind of beside the point.
