Mrs Smithswede is from Colorado , which on further reflection doesn't explain the salad thing either

Thanks for posting this Dusty.  Yep, it's at the same place as usual - the American Legion in Lindale!  Pitch a tent, hang a hammock, hook a trailer to water & electricity, or motel it.  I don't care, just come and have fun.  No big activities planned, just a choice of scenic rides, kickin' tires, and telling lies around a big fire by the lake.  Bring your fishing pole, your kayak, or take a leisurely ride around the lake in Tex's paddle (peddle) boat.  I've got 3 life jackets.  You can also challenge someone in a game of horsehoes.  Oh, and all meals are provided or there is plenty to eat around town or on the scenic rides.  There will be plenty of snacks during the day, so you won't go hungry.

Will post more details later.

But Dusty says he'll only run the race if there are enough three-legged riders in attendance, and that Tex doesn't get to do the scavenger hunt on account of he's undefeated over his career.  To make it fair for Tex, he gets to make his own pies for the contest.  Someone best remove Wilson from the kitchen before that happens; Tex is out of frozen armadillo, and everyone knows he likes his meat pies.    [kitty cat icon here]   :food:

Oh -- and what about the armpit-sniffing contest?  Are we gonna have it for sure, or does it depend on the attendees?   :bike-037:

WOW! Beaver came over last night and gave me two t-shirts for this years rally. Rodekyll and Lannis know enough words to describe this unique t-shirt.

Me, all I can say is I'm happier than a sissy on a troop train.

My girlfriend has decided to buy my v7 from me since I've bought the Norge. We should be coming together on the Norge to the rally, if it ever gets delivered to me (and I put some break in miles on it). She turns 30 next month, but I told her it's never too young for a pair of red suspenders.

I hope the Norge gets here by then, if not, y'all can still come on the v7!  Are y'all gonna camp?  Lookin' forward to meeting your girlfriend and seeing you again.

Dusty called and said he was bringing crumpets and foie gras to the rally.. Dusty used to run a cafe in Oklahoma and I can't believe they served that. If you can't fry it you can't sell it.

Actually, in France they take slices of foie gras and fry them for many dishes - so Dusty may have been on the right side of the rule!

So all you folks out there who are contemplating coming to Texas for the GRIT Rally, this should make your decision much easier.  Saturday night we're promised fried catfish foie gras served by low no-class stumpets.  If you don't come, you'll be missin' out on a great time!

Tex, have you been sneaking into the fermented turnip juice again?  That was supposed to be for the dessert breads you're making.  Mmmm-mmmm,  y'all ain't never tasted nothin' til you've tasted fermented turnip juice banana bread.  It's to die for, really!

I don't have my glasses.  What's the bigger beaver holding?

Tex is getting lazy, what with no blueberries and such in the fermented turnip juice banana bread.

You'd think we could at least get a couple of huckleberries too!

Tex does make the best morning breads in a 200 mile radius of Lindale though!!

Well, since the only places within 200 miles are Dallas, Shreveport and Nacogdoches, I'm not surprised! He'd have a run for his money if he were a bit closer to Fredericksburg or N'awlins!

Tex has a chocolate sundae bread that's colorful and delicious.  It's rumored to be world famous for as far as you can see down the block.  He says the secret is that the raisins aren't what you think they are.  I'd back it against anyone's.   :food:
