Small block CPK tooth wheel question
« on: December 24, 2017, 04:22:01 AM »
Hi all,

Compliments of the season.

Can anyone shed some light on this?:

I am preparing to fit an aftermarket EFI/CDI kit to a 2014 V7 engine that is missing most of the OEM gubbins.

The toothed wheel that triggers the CPK sensor has 48 teeth, less 2 gaps of 2 teeth.
These gaps are diametrically opposite each other.
If the ignition is triggered by the gap passing the sensor plus a programmed delay, how does the OEM ECU know when to fire cylinder 1 and when to fire cylinder 2?

Many thanks for any insight you can give on this.

Cheers
