That's a nice little slick track. Should be a nice groove for the final. Where did I sit that glass of Jamison's?

BMW flattracker - run what you brung...
« Reply #10 on: March 30, 2017, 06:19:06 PM »
seen at the recent Atlanta 3/8 mile flat track race.

The Super Hooligan class started as a sort of circus class sponsored and run by Roland Sands Design.  It was more like pro-wrestling than anything (and it was not taken seriously by anybody in the pits).  But, it has rapidly grown out of that beginning to where people really want to win (without deciding ahead of time who that might be).

Eventually, it'll probably price itself out of existence as teams get serious, but at least for now, pretty much anything goes...

No; this bike was not competitive.

merge away, but other than 19" tires, I'm not sure this qualifies as FT...

at the extreme other end of the scale are these remarkable new Indian flattrackers--race only; not derived from street bikes.

I thought the hooligan class was kinda fun! Those Scouts are some evil lookin' machines! Can't wait till Memorial Day weekend, I'll be up in turn 3 pretty close to our usual spot.

We need some of our naïve  American friends to do an anti rain dance for that weekend!!

How did the Indians make out compared to the Harley XR750's?

Halbert's XR was the fastest bike out there, but overall the Indian's were faster (and much faster than the new XG750 that the H-D team was riding).  Likely, if any of the H-D team members were on last year's XR, they would have been up there with Sammy, too.

the fact that the H-D has vestigial cooling fins says a lot about the seriousness of the two designs.  H-D has work to do.

Charlotte 1/2 mile tomorrow on fanschoice . Guessing Deke will be there in person , thanks for the pictures guys .

About the XG , unless V&H can unlock some more power , the fast HD guys will be back on XR's before long , or another brand . Doesn't look like HD thought this out very well , or they didn't think the sanctioning body was going to allow Indian to race a non-production engine .

Second in her heat race , and Sandy came from the back to finish 8th for a transfer to the semi.  I root for the girls , but the Charlotte Kainz incident last year still makes me sad .

One vote for getting rid of Bubba Blackwell . Could we not hire an ex racer for this job ?
