Norge Joy (Finally!)

Last night, after I got home from being out of town for two days, my friend Dean Russell texted me and asked if I could come out and play. I asked my wife, and she said yes.

As a physician, Dean works all the time. He rarely has time to ride, and he has even less time to plan ahead. If he texts me, we need to ride right then and there.

So, I saddled up the Norge without top case and with the stock windshield, and he saddled up his BMW R1200R. We headed up Highway 101 from Olympia toward Shelton. And then he took me on all these backroads that I did not know even existed, winding roads through forests and fields. We rode for 100 miles (sometimes at what seemed like that many miles per hour, though I did not watch my speedometer--we could have been traveling much slower). It was all I could do to keep up with him.

My Norge was finally in its element: winding the throttle through the rev range, shifting at close to 8,000 rpm, taking corners faster than the suggested speed. Wow! I did not know riding the Norge could be this fun! (Droning straight on the freeway simply does not compare.)

 Dang , we would love to have Jeff come down , it's only about 1,600 miles John  We could show him our "mountain" for sure

What Norge have you got Jeff ?
Also I was interested to hear the bloke say that the electric screen on the 2011 was "new".
The one on my '07 must be an illusion..
