I think I might be able to find my old fan club card, from my Los Angeles days.

I heard an interview w/ Ms. Petersen (Elvira) a few months ago in which she did say that she planned to retire soon (I recall), and that she had been smart enough to get ownership of her character, so that she had a lot of royalties to finance her glamorous lifestyle. She was delightfully quick and articulate during the session.

It seems that Elvira has set things up to live on in perpetuity, like Elvis. What we need are more reruns, not a replacement.

By the way, and a little off topic. I wish people wouldn't start threads using the name of an aging celebrity as the title. I always fear that the person just died. This happened to me recently with the "John Prine" thread too.

How about "Elivra (still living!)" next time.

Where are you seeing things with Elvira in them?  The last time I saw her on TV was when Count's Customs fixed up a caddie for her.  Before that it was probably the 70s.

Counts Customs cleaned up her second generation (square bird) Ford Thunderbird, also featured in her movie ( it's a really campy movie ).

The only thing I've ever stolen was a life size Elvira Walgreens cardboard beer cutout the day after Halloween. I was about 12 at the time. My mother was not happy.
She has her own pinball machine. Who can claim that? Evel Knievel and Elvis?

Doesn't matter who takes over, she is irreplaceable and a National Treasure!

I was at a Casino in New York this past weekend and they have an Elvira slot machine. It is a rather large more recent addition to the Casino.
