very cool. So, referring to your original post on the thread, you said "version 2.0 will include..."

so is this bike 2.0, or are you thinking of another Jackal/california?

Love all the black and particularly the fenders. Fenders and rear lighting is the first thing I'm addressing on my Jackal. Just don't care for the stock taillight assembly at all. The saddlebags will hide what I consider an odd fender profile for now. Did the pictured bike get the lucas style light? I can make out that you've got a much different fender on there, is that the original, modified, or a replacement altogether? And for those that opt to modify the existing rear fender, does that lucas housing mount over the stock bracket or do dudes remove it?

The fact that the existing taillight assembly wasn't working properly pushed me to already spend some money in this vein, getting mini LED turn signals and an LED single taillight, but bobber style/"Ford" type, going to mess around with a modular light/plate mount and try to cover/incorporate the existing bracket, and have it look "stock". Opted to maintain chrome elements on my bike at this point, but still try to go with less of a bling factor. We shall see. Turns out the lighting issue was a minor one, and I probably could have survived with stock while considering my options for a while.

Thanks for posting! much appreciated.

Yup, that was 2.0 (or 2.whatever it wound up before I sold it).

Here is a comparison of when I bought it and V2.0

The front fender is a fiberglass repro from MGClassics:

http://www.motoguzziclassics.com/MGCParts2.asp

I don't currently see them on the website, but I think they order them in batches and might be convinced to order more.

If not, it's basically a fiberglass reproduction of the front fender used on some stock Cali models, I THINK the Bassa/Special Sport etc.

The rear fender was from a solidmount Sportster (something through 03) which was turned around backwards for a clean tail-light mounting surface. It required a little welding and clean up - including the Jackal mounting bracket tabs (under the seat) and patching what was now the front of the fender (which had the hole for the original Sportster tail-light).

I suspect you could mount that Lucas style light on a modified OEM fender too if you cut away the current bracket. But it would depend on the angle, and you'd have to trim the fender.

I modified my rear fender:

Had the holes welded up, did the body filling/painting myself.  The older CEV replica tail light holder doesn't follow the curves of the Jackal fender well.  In hindsight, I'd keep the shelf and design some sort of bracket to hold a custom tail light.

How did the HD fender look in a non-backwards mount?

Very similar, it's relatively symmetrical. But you'd have a big hole and have to use the standard HD Sportster Tail-Light, or fill it in.

Really dig those National bags. Unbelievable how well they match the lines. I live 10 minutes from the factory, and contacted them about appropriate part numbers and mounts etc. The reply was, nope, don't make 'em for Guzzi's. Nope, no mounting racks. Nope, not interested in seeing them installed. Guy was nice enough, just didn't really have any info.

Clearly, several of you figured it out.

In hindsight, I'd keep the shelf and design some sort of bracket to hold a custom tail light.

This.

You did a great job on yours, but this is what I'll attempt. A hole or two is one thing. Not ready to start removing anything significant yet.

And cheers to a fellow granite stater. Can't wait to get this bike up there. Great roads for it.

She's gone now but here's what my Cal Special looked like before she got totaled.

Givi flyscreen. Guzzi backrest with HB bag racks (powder coated silver along with frame rail covers), Wilbers shocks, Hyper pro fork springs with cartridge emulators from Guzzitech, Dirt bike bars with Rox Risers, billet Bar end mirrors, ceramic coated head pipes, guzzitech x-over, mistral silencers, dyno mapped Power Commander, and a bunch of other little things added over the years. I do miss her.

The mounts I have are jackal specific. The passenger footpeg bracket is different on these than the Cali models, which requires a different leading support strut.

I've modified the upper rear mount.  Originally the design mounted to the rear frame member. Using the factory package rack made this impossible. I cut the mount off and used some angle iron so now it mounts to the outside of the factory rack.  Looks pretty slick.

The whole set up (racks, bags) is yours for $250 plus shipping if you want it.  Send me a PM if interested.

 :D

Yeah, I got bored and it was time to move on.

Not to mention Guzzi paid attention to my color/styling cues and were nice enough to make me a twin in a V7 Stone  ;)

Sad part is poor fellow who bought it (he's a member here) was rear ended earlier this year and I think she went to the scrap yard.  :(

Something like this?

https://www.denniskirk.com/drag-specialties/custom-rear-fender.p397130.prd/397130.sku

Yup, I would think that would do nicely, though I'd double-check the dimensions despite what DG says is fitment.

It sure is. I have to tell you I've found several shots of your bike online and have been referencing them regularly. Your bike is perfect. Still have it?

That black Jackal above is not mine. Just saw it online and posted the linked picture.

Before mine was totaled on July 5th, 2013, roughly 9:30PM.  Nah, I don't miss it.   ;)
Even with the hydro now in the garage there was something special about the Jackal.
Before powder coating.  Also pictured is the Ned's saddle I had made.

After powder coating luggage rack and other bits and pieces.

Interesting!
Is that a LeMansIII tank? Do you have more shots of the bike, might consider doing something similar.
How many litres  in that tank? The current 19ltr is not enough for my commuting
Thanks

fab'd an alternate tailight/plate bracket. I like it. Leaves the stock fender bracket with it's posts in place. Can easily remount the original. Really don't understand the design of that light though. Just doesn't fit the bike at all in my view.

Slippery slope...I've got lots of ideas for this winter. We'll see what comes together.

Thoughts?

sorry about the resolution on this one. Really don't like the G5 camera.
