Branchville Motors --- Going out of Business
« on: June 12, 2013, 08:56:10 AM »
It's official.  My new found MG dealer is going out of business after about thirty years in business.  In the short time that I have known them, they have been good to me.  If anyone in the area is interested in a bargain or two as the shelves are picked bare, by all means stop by.  If anyone has a recommendation, I'll be looking for another dealer.

I got a deal on the bike, pretty much at invoice because Alex wanted it off the showroom floor.  Then when I called about parts, I was told they were calling it quits.  Alex sold me some saddle bags, again at a good price.  I haven't owned the bike long enough to do any service, so I can't speak to that.

Anyone with a recommendation for a local dealer that can support Guzzi would be welcome.

Wow, I thought that Alex would be doing better with the addition of Triumph. Too bad, wonder what he is going to do now?

sorry to hear. i used to stop by occassionally after a Marcus Dairy run or one of the open house events. Alex was definitely a quirky individual, but aren't we all? someone needs to flesh out the vintage MGs (i have heard about) in his stash if he's truly cashing out. i would assume the Vespa shop next door is closing as well?

just sayin'

Yes, the Vespa, rider gear shop is part of the same business.  I don't know what he has for vintage inventory, but I do know the bank took all the new bikes.  There was some MG logoed inventory when I was there last, no idea what all now.

Alex was always one the guys I could count on to speak the truth and hang out with at dealer meetings over the years. We share a background in Euro cars then a move into motorcycles.  Events conspired to rob  him of the continued  success he deserves.  I learned of this last week and it saddens me , but he has his head held high and will move on.
