Interesting thing is that Stelvio NTX is the only Stelvio I found on www.motoguzzi.com

What's this then? Found under 2014 range in garage

Ya know my only disappointment with their offerings is that they haven't yet decided to strike while the iron is hot with a V12 styled like a V7 but with the 8V motor...

The show has just started.  It goes through the 10th.  The big announcements from the OEMs could very well come Friday or Saturday.

An 8v Bellagio with V7 bodywork seems like a no-brainer.  Especially since several customs have shown the classic bodywork will work on the Bellagio.

If you scroll to Germany, they show a Bellagio in their product line offering.  It's not the 8V however, probably a 2V 1200cc.

How big of a market do you think there is for such a bike in the US.  In 2012-2013, there were 680 1200cc, CARC equipped bikes sold in this country -- 260 each of the Stelvio NTX's and Griso's, 160 of the Norge's.  That's not a very big pie to develop a new bike for, unless some other country already has it in large quantities.

^^^^  But the idea would be to grab new customers attracted to the retro vibe of the V7, but who want something bigger and/or with more hp.  IMO, that could be a lot of people.  Look at how many new-to-Guzzi customers the V7 has attracted.

Well, I think the market would be good for Guzzi.  A "950 LeMans" built from a Bellagio with V7 bodywork and 8v heads added would be both modern and classic, and would appeal to a broad range of customers who like a sporty standard.

Guzzi production has been low every since I've been around the brand.  I got my first Guzzi in 1997.  Worldwide production has never exceeded 10,000 units per year during that time, and has usually been about half that.

The thing that makes a retro CARC bike easily doable is that it would be a parts bin bike.  Other than a nose-mounted alternator on the 8v engine, it would not be expensive to develop.  Bellagio CARC frames already exist.  V7 Classic bodywork already exists.  The parts are available.  All someone has to do is combine them at the factory, just like numerous custom builders have already done.

Sure, a Bellagio-based retro might steal a few V7 sales.  However, one of the things holding the V7 back from being a grand slam is power.  That would not be a problem with an 8v mill stuffed into a Bellagio frame.

Yes, we're talking about units in the hundreds or few thousands.  But honestly, that's the count with any Guzzi model, and has been for decades.

I'd actually prefer a V12, but with the 4V motor.  They still make and sell the Bellagio in other markets, which has a 940cc 4V motor, thus, they still make the 2V heads.   So, they could easily still build the 4V 1200 as was in the earlier Norge.

NEVER GONNA HAPPEN.

As much as I dig the Bellagio and/or the 2V/Cyl big-block, they are both "perceived" to be too small and/or too weak for the US market.

That's is why my comment about the 2V heads still being in production for the Bellagio.

NEVER GONNA HAPPEN.

Sad, but true.    IMHO, the 2V/cyl. is a better overall ownership experience.    That said, I've not ridden an 8V bike, but, I'm more than happy with the output of the 1064cc 2V/cyl. motor on my Breva.

Given that your statement is so true for the US market, I'm happy that H.D. still saw fit to sell their new smaller displacement bikes in the US, and not just developing markets.   I think/hope they'll be a hit.   I'll be signing up for a test ride myself.

Jenn asked me if I thought they'd have em at York next year ... she might want a test ride. She LOVED her Harley, but after realizing how much easier it was to ride her Ducati at NEARLY 200 lbs lighter she lost interest.

Well, as of this afternoon (Thursday), nothing new at the MG booth.

I know color and style is personal, but in-person I thought the silver Griso looked great. There was no one I could ask about the Stelvio wheels. I'd like to know if wire is still an option, or if they will be used on the U.S. Model. The green V7 was super cool with the knee pads added to the tank, and the silver V7 would make a great commuter as it is set up here.

The Piaggio booth was super busy, but sadly, the MG portion often seemed a little slow.

This show is better than anything offered in the U.S. If you ever get the chance to make the trip, you won't regret it.

I agree, but why can't they offer a few colors like they did a few years ago.  There should at least be 3.

I think it was Rocker59 that suggested replacing the silver of the Black Devil's paint job with Tenni green. That would be an attractive Griso.

Yep.  It would look great!

The current paint scheme with the diagonal stripes is fantastic looking.  I'm just not a big fan of silver body color.

They could keep the scheme, but change the color each year, for a few years.  Drop the silver in favor of Green, then Red, then Yellow.  Something like that.

Not disagreeing with you guys, since attractive color schemes are entirely subjective and personal.  But I don't think the Griso would've caught my attention if it weren't for the Black Devil's color scheme.
