13' v7 the same as '14?
« on: January 28, 2015, 12:54:10 PM »
Hey guys, I have 14 v7 stone in the shop with some banged up front end parts. I need to replace the front end brace between the forks. This is available from harpers, I assume that 13 and 14 are exactly the same. Only see a listing for '13. Any ideas?

If you are working on your front end.. The best mod you can make IMHO is the gauge & headlight lowering bracket available in the classified.. Produced by a list member it is THE best money you can spend on a v7

As to your question.. The answer is yes. A simple call to Harpers will put you at ease

I presume you're using the USA model dates, which are somewhat different from the European model dates.  The parts books for both are freely available on line, so you should be able to check for yourself.  But, in case you can't, here's what I can see:  the whole fork assembly has a different part number, 2B000558 for '14, 97724R for the '12-'13 models.  On the '12-'13 models, two different forks were installed, from different manufacturers, Kaifa and Marzocchi.  Apparently, only Kaifa forks are installed on the '14 models.  All of the other pieces of the fork assembly are the same in '12-'13 and '14.  I'm not sure what specific part you are asking about, or I would have given you the part number.  Hope this helps.

It is the #883266 stabilization plate listed in harpers catalog for 2013. The drawing looks the same. Thanks for the help!

Yep, it's the same number in the '14 models, and it's even the same on the VII models, which we won't see in the USA until the fall.

This one is broken, it is clearly some type of pot-metal, aluminum.
