 And I'm waiting for rain to wash the roads clean of sand and grave spread down for snow traction.

Wow! Good eye.  Yes; that's Blois, France (it wasn't so much raining as the clouds let loose with a fire-hose).  Fixed it.

As always thanks for the pictures.  I wish I had a decent camera and an eye for photography.

WOW, RevPack saddlepacks on top of saddlebags!!  :o  That's quite a stack of gear you have there!    ~;

Not very often I stop just because it's raining.  There was that time in Missouri when it was raining so hard the water was overflowing the curbs so we figured we better pull over before we lost control of the bike.  ~;

I was caring quite a bit of cooking gear and the motorcycle was way overloaded. I also was packed for a planed two-three month ride.  The RevPacks are great soft luggage.  No whistles or bell and no zipper to leak.  ;-T  :BEER:

I've had have grey insulated saddlepacks just like yours for years(even had them repaired more than once for free), a grey excursion pack, map holder, and now insulated large baq for the back seat of all my rigs.  Lifetime warranty on them and they last forever.  ;-T  I use them on many rigs as needed.   ;D   Occasionally see other Guzzisti that have them too.  It's a family business.

  You can save a lot of room by limiting your cooking gear.  I use a single enameled steel pot and a steel cup.  When not in use, fill the pot with socks and skivvies
 and put it in your pack thereby minimizing the room it takes in your pack.  I can cook anything in it over a fire or on a camp stove or on a charcoal grill
 in a camp area.  I do the coffee or tea first then cook the food in it and eat from it with no further need for a plate or bowl.  Over a fire I hang it from a make
 shift tripod or tree limb.  For more civilized cooking I use a small gasoline camp stove that uses the same gas as the bike.
 Tripod demonstrated in back of my garage, camp stove in use on a trip in Oregon.

Smoking some water for coffee on an Hi Tec wood stove purchased for my ride to visit RK in Sitka.

My back up stove when no dry wood is to be found.

Hard to beat Colman stoves.

At some point you have to accept that the wood stove looked like a good idea at the time but the stove on the left will burn just about anything except wood and not be a PIA to use.

These stoves are great for motel rooms as well as the campground.  Not all that practical for long trips where the fuel may not be available.

Of course when you are desperate.

Or maybe you can find a French lady from Montréal to cook.

When you are really hungry or have a bunch of Guzzie riders to feed.

Can't beat a 55 gal drum except......

And when you are starving you can always
