750 strada finally on the road

Hi,
a couple of years ago I bought a '94 750 Strada from a mate who had stored it unused and unloved at the back of his garage for 9 1/2 years.
Finally got it on the road last week and went for a run at the weekend.

It is my first Guzzi and I'm impressed, comfortable, good brakes, decent performance, great noise and a bit of a novelty in the north east of Scotland.
I did 245 miles at a 'spirited' pace and when I filled it up this morning it took 15.6 Litres (3.45 imp gallons). If my maths is correct that gives around 71mpg!
I dont normally work out my mpg, when I fill a vehicle up I sometimes do a quick mental check to see if it is within acceptable limits but 71mpg?

Also I think I need some weaker throttle springs or a stronger right wrist (there's a joke in there somewhere) 'cos I reckon it would get to be a problem on a long tour, so any advice on replacing the springs would be gratefully received.

Congratulations.
At first I thought 71 MPG, that can't be then I remembered you are in real gallons
59.17 miles per US gallon is still pretty impressive.

To relieve your throttle wrist just get a Throttle Rocker.  That's what I do.  ;)  It wraps around your rubber grip and is adjustable as/when needed.  :BEER:

Sounds pretty lean. When I was running the stock Strada lean burn carbs, I generally got around 50-52. After De Americanizing them from Guzziology, I got around 42-44. And.. noticeably more powerful in the midrange.

He's running a 750.  Would that make much difference from our Strada 1000s?

Mick, like one of the fellows above wrote, can you post some pictures?  There are a couple of 1000 cc Stradas in the group but no 750s that anyone has mentioned.  Sounds as though you have a very nice ride there.  Hope you are able to put a whole lot of happy miles on it this season!
