Norge Farkles - Warning-gizmos

Made up the final speaker mount and gizmo dash cover with tablet mount. Other posts detail what models of equipment. Tablet can get ECU data via Bluetooth, send music and GPS announcements to the speakers. On the right is the TPS, highly recommended, saves a lot of time.

From the seated position, none of this interferes with seeing any instruments and the point of view is over the speakers. They get power from under the Gizmo dash cover which is also where the under fairing nose amber driving lamps are switched.

Not a question of "need".

Wouldn't have a Wing, not my kind of bike. I like music on rides and the GPS let's me quickly save locations and keeps route logs for reference. All of this adds maybe 2.5 pounds total weight.

Everything can be removed and returned to stock in several minutes and you'd never know it was there. No drilling or permanent fastening of anything.

When I stop for the night, everything can come off in seconds and goes inside the room. There I can route plan the next day, review the bike can video and send out clips and pics to others.

If I'm meeting up with others, at a stop, a couple of touches sends out my GPS location with link to a live map. If I have trouble along the trip, I can send out my exact position without getting off the bike. I can also look up resources I might need. If the route changes I can get updates because they can come in live and I can just stop and know where the meetup is.

I have the Norge Manual and service manual and wiring diags on the tablet, the original ECU map as well as the one it's running now. Instant access to GuzziDiag.

If I need to make a call at a stop, the speakers double as speaker phone, no ear plugs needed. Open the Kabuto modular and make or get the call.

Wings are fantastic machines but they are also big brutes. None if these farkles change the personality of the Norge, they just add some conveniences.

I like the setup you have there. Nice work.
I too carry the service manual in pdf on my Kindle whenever I travel....also the MGNOC contact list.
Having put about 500,000 miles on wings....I like the weight and feel of the smaller bike .....that's why I have an ST also.  Still have a 1800 wing in the garage just in case we want to take a 2 up trip....or pull someone's truck out of a ditch ......normally my wife rides it herself.

TPS = Throttle Position Sensor?

Do you continually monitor throttle position?

I rarely glance at the display which is why it sits quite a bit lower than line of sight to the road. The GPS announces route directions, interrupting the music if that is playing. The primary purpose if the tablet is to hold the music and when stopped, provide map reference and so on.

When in the room during travel I can log into the home security cameras to check if there was an alert. I can also use it for video chat with family during travels.

I do run Radar Now so that changes in weather that present travel hazards are alerted via the tablets display. It can make the difference between stopping earlier and sitting under a bridge or toughing it out in a downpour.

My speedo is optimistic so I can switch the display to a GPS syncd speedo that is large and easy to read.

All in all, it isn't any more intrusive than the standard instruments or that tiny LCD Moto Guzzi puts on the bike.
