Replacement Keys
« on: September 17, 2018, 07:47:31 PM »
Hi

Looking for a summer restoration project (my first)
I've had a look at several salvage bikes (Frames are written off by insurers - cannot be registered in current frame)
Hoping to get a 8v motor and  turn it into something personal and unique.

Several of the wrecks I have looked at don't have keys.

Is it difficult (Impossible?) to rekey a modern ECU bike?
Can a competent locksmith assist?
Do I need to buy a new Ignition/steering lock and keys?
Can a locksmith reset the fuel tank lock and seat lock to a new key?

Paul

Yes I saw that one .... would have liked to buy it but as you say over priced.
By the time you add frame, keys and lights ....

I'll keep looking

The one on bikedomain looks like another swingarm failure. First one I've heard of on a Griso.....

Pete

PS. I can word you up about the keys if you give me a call. Haven't got time to write it all out chapter and verse, sorry.

Thanks Pete
I’ll take you up on that at a later date when the Michael issues have settled down
