Title: Help again on a another bird ID
Post by: Gliderjohn on June 16, 2021, 08:41:22 PM: Have seen these a couple of time over 15 years but much more common this year. Think it is a yellow bunting. Our reference books for KS say possible but unlikely however we have created quite a bird haven.

Post by: cliffrod on June 16, 2021, 09:00:07 PM: my wife says its an Oriole, maybe an orchard hooded or Scotts Oriole. She says it has the wrong beak shape to be a bunting, which has a short fat finch beak.

I also asked Fuzz, our alpha cat who is lying on the floor here in the living room.. He says it looks like a delicious bird. He'll take two....

Post by: larrys on June 17, 2021, 07:19:43 AM: Female Oriole. We get transients here late spring. This year we have a nesting pair. I see the male in the tulip poplar trees getting nectar from the flowers. Put out a orange sliced in half. They love those.
