Sold Big Mama Stone today
« on: March 24, 2016, 05:24:22 PM »

Charlie is Happy!

because I sold him my 2004 Stone today.

Sold the Big Stone (Mama) to my dear friend and Guzzi Guru Charlie.
He'd been without a Guzzi for too long.

Nothing like a Guzzi to bring a big smile to your face.

I'll miss here but Charlie says I can visit her anytime I want.  The Guzzi that is.

Made me an offer I couldn't refuse besides he's been riding her more than I have.
Always said I'd keep her to make a sidehack rig, but she was suffering from neglect.

Don't worry still have the V7.  She's not going anywhere.

He'll take good care of her and she's just down the block.
I have right of first refusal if he ever decides to sell her.

Odd coincidence.. A month ago I sold my 04 Stone Touring to Otis Gray, a Phoenix-area Guzzisti (has an '00 Jackal, just sold his '15 Griso) retired USAF jet mechanic, who has corresponded regularly over the last month to express his satisfaction with it.  He's younger than I by 20 years and has 6" and 90# on me so he'll not be overwhelmed by the Stone's heft.  I am keeping the '03 Stone Touring which is set up for me the way I want it, but for the CalVin skunk seat, which will be replaced by a Corbin as soon as they get it made.  I'm a bit wary moving the big bike around the garage and at gas stops, but hope springs eternal and I haven't dropped it yet.  The "hydros" really are nice bikes and I'm not ready for a small block.

The V7 fits my riding style more these days and it certainly is easier to handle at lower speeds.  Keeping up and riding two bikes was a bit much lately so in this case less is more.  The old girl is still in the family and just down the street so I don't feel too badly.  Besides Mom always said that it's good to share.
