Looks like its been repainted and those aren't the original carbs, I don't think. Ambassador Police models are fairly rare. Also rare to see the siren bracket intact, but almost impossible to find a friction siren anyway. Missing floorboards does seem curious. Maybe the originals rusted out. If you buy it and ditch the police equipment I'll buy the radio from you for my police Eldorado. I'm always suspicious of eBay bikes. Given that you'll need to redo the cylinders anyway, I've seen other examples that might give you a better start. Don't know where you're located, but here's a good looking one near Boston. https://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/mcy/6624289546.html

Another "fake" police bike.  Eldo dash, aftermarket floor boards, no ignition in place of left too box, etc.

But it does have the factory siren mount.

Easy enough to buy a frame.  That's your litmus test for a true cop bike?

I think that is a litmus test from a collector standpoint. It proves the bike saw service or was intended to, though there were probably some without. I read Guzzi supplied electric sirens starting on V700s, so I would guess no bracket on those. Also solid crashbars and 40k+ on the clock :police:. It's easier to find a police dash than a frame, I would think. If you're just looking for a ride then it doesn't matter, but I find civilians dressed up like cop bikes pointless. A police Ambassador would be a good find. Some might find the frame/engine worth it on it's own. I almost bought a literal basket case police Ambo a year and a half ago, but luckily I found my police Eldorado first, which was complete. Right after I passed on the Ambo Moe Moore snapped it up for top money. Over 3000 I think.
But as I said. personally I would steer clear of this one. The paint job is horrible and the floorboards are unfortunate, it's probably not the original dash, so the whole thing is questionable. I see a fair number of decent civilian Ambassadors on Craigslist, etc. that would be a better bet. I have an old Ambassador and I love it.

Hey tonyduc,
This Police Ambo just came up on eBay. Says it was gone over by Harpers, which should be verifiable.
