Sloan (sort of a mainstream Canadian offbeat, if that makes any sense)
Alvvays
Courtney Barnett (is she still offbeat?)
Hatfield and the North (45 years later, I still love them)
Howe Gelb / Giant Sand
Sarah Shook
Robyn Hitchcock (he was born offbeat)
and one can always add the late, great but very troubled Syd Barrett
and on a similar note, Roky Erickson

LowRyter, thank you for leading me to Katy Guillen & The Girls, my kind of music!

Thank Seth.

But get their records, they need all the support they can get.

Red Knuckles and the Trail Blazers...
They were the country/western swing alternative/parody band of Hot Rize. I always liked their stuff better than the blue grass they did.

Great - introduce us to Guillen and the Girls after they break up.

Great sound - they would have been worth a trip to KC to see.

I didn't know they had broken up but I didn't see anything since their last record came out.

Well, purchase their records and maybe they'll hook back up?

Boy, there are a LOT of Guzzi guys who dig John Prine.

Dusty, can you get him to come to Cedar Vale 2020?

Waits.  Tom Waits.  The man has defined offbeat for well over 40 years.  I don't believe he's ever been onbeat.

I have always been a casual fan of Waits until I saw him in concert.  The man puts on one hell of a live performance and I’m hoping he tours soon as it’s been many years since he has gone on the road.

If y'all like John Prine, you'll love Fred Eaglesmith.

I've been a Fred-head for years.

My wife & I went to see Fred and Steve Earle at an outdoor venue last weekend.

Fred and his wife blew the audience away.  Earle's set was so choreographed even he looked bored.
