Speaking of "custom" (Franken-) Guzzi...

https://nmi.craigslist.org/mcy/d/harbor-springs-1972-moto-guzzi-850gt/6906575399.html

I actually stumbled across this bike a year ago and had a few conversations with the owner. I was searching "Guzzi" in MI Craigslist, and the mention of "...also an old custom Guzzi..." was in the text of an ad he was running for a Honda, so I contacted him about the old custom Guzzi, and he sent pics.

The pegs are wrong, but all-in-all it has some desirable parts (front dual discs) and there is a clean-yet-ratty appeal that I like, plus the GT fenders.

Really? That's your old bike? what about the current owner's story about being under a tarp in a barn?

If nobody else is really interested, please send me a PM describing what you know/remember about the build, and what the heck happened to the dash.

I'm of the mindset that "whatever works" to get an old bike back on the road and running is all good, in the absence of "proper" parts.

Old enough to say I've done it, young enough to do it again.

Looks like a nice rider, brake updates are a plus Could easily go back to 850 GT trim as the important bits such as toolboxes, side covers and stainless fenders  ( or was it chrome?) are all there . :thumb:

I tuned up an Ambo over the weekend, made Oct 71. It was restored in 93-94. I was surprised to see it had no work done to it since. I remember it well from the resto. Anyone here remember the Easter-Egg bikes?
