Currently I'm at 30.  (my signature is only a partial list)  Youngest brother is currently at 50.  Funny, I didn't realize we were both at round numbers until I reviewed the list for this post.  Add in the other younger brother, and Dad's stuff and we're at 106 family bikes.  Probably close to 2/3's are runners or fixer uppers, maybe a bit less, the rest are parts bikes.

I have owned 50 in my life but the most I ever had at one time was 7.  Right now I only have three
And two of them are sidecar rigs.  I have had 11 sidecar rigs counting the one that arrived this morning
in two big cardboard boxes.  I will post photos when I get it all put together and licensed ready to terrorize the island.

Sasquatch Jim you should check out the Suzuki TU250X sidecar rig photos on the Suzuki TU250X forum, it really is a nice looking sidecar rig and I think you would enjoy the photos.

TDF - whaaaaat?  Do you own a museum or a shop?  That is amazing. I can't even imagine how you keep up with all that, I misplace my keys all the time and I only have two sets to keep track of.

I know a guy who has at least 25 bikes, which he rides, then parks and replaces them w/a new bike, and they sit never to be ridden again, unless he sells them once in awhile.  For a few years he was enamored with Guzzis and now they sit.

Yeah, they go in the barn after they hit about 100K miles.   Probably about every 5 years for him.  Run hard, put away wet.

This is a fun topic!

To the best of my failing memory:

I currently have 5 motorcycles (4 Guzzis) and have owned 27 (8 Guzzis).

My wife has owned 10 (1 Guzzi - V65SP) and currently has 2 (no Guzzis but has occasionally ridden my V7 Classic).

I'd say that I have the number below - my wife?... she'd reduce that number by:
1 patio decoration
2 lawn ornaments
 - and a couple of wearied shrugs with a vocal though non-verbal, single toned commentary which seems to be the singular treasure of English women's judgmental repertoire. Dismissal? Pity? Sad recognition of flawed American male logic and/or desperate "clinging"?

Anyhow - I go with the number of items below which at any given time may be wheeled about and admired on their own merits (by ME, scoffers may go stand over... >>>there. Yer blockin' the view). Low tires and lower batteries not withstanding.

As I respond when someone ventures unto the ice to ask; regarding vehicles, firearms, books, etc: "How many is too many?"

"2 more, but ask me again after the next one"

Nope we just like mechanical things.  Youngest brother and I are both bachelors so garages full of bikes, cars parked outside, we each even have a pair in our respective houses as decoration.  A pair of Honda's for him, and a suzuki dirtbike, and my MV for me.  (though I do bring the MV out each summer for a few weeks of riding)  Youngest brother's garage practically is a museum though.  We disassembled an old barn a few years ago, and used the 100+ year old lumber to build a loft in there with a functional elevator to lift bikes into the storage area, and a display area in front styled to look like an old barn with three old barn find bikes on display, out in the front of the loft.  We rotate through the runners, each probably having about 4 or 5 licensed in any given year.

right now I only have my first bike a 72 Honda Trail 90 and my commuter Madass 125 that I'm replacing this spring with something else.
there is a big empty space in my garage where the Uly was parked....
for those of you with a dozen or more,
I'm seeking a really good buy on a V11.. prefer a Nero.
or off Guzzi content maybe an XB9SX

Jay only has the dozen or so he lists registered at any one time, but the last few times I dropped by his amazing (6-car heated/cooled/plumbed, detached garage with auto and bike lifts) I've usually counted at least 25-30 bikes.

And to be clear he keeps some of the registered ones in the other oversized 2-car attached garage.

I meant to post a pic earlier but can't do it from the phone.

I don't think I've ever owned more than 4 at a time, but I reach critical mass by 3, maybe 4-5 if my wife is riding enough to "share" the burden of keeping them fresh and ridden.

Shy of that I gotta keep it to three.

I have to agree with you.  Before he built  his new museum he could only show 120 at a time.  And almost all of them are ready to ride.....+ he keeps on buying more bikes as he finds them available. The most valuable bike collection in the WORLD.

I may be in line for a prize here (A new Griso?  Well, thanks!). In my 79 years, I have owned 80 motorcycles.  The 2003 Stone Touring I got from former WGC board member Denny Lee Lacey is #80.  Somewhere I have the data on about 3/4 of these bikes.  I still have six, but could kick myself for some of the ones I've let go, like my 1962 Honda CB92R 125cc twin road legal club racer.  Damn...

My excuse for this excess is that when 16 in 1953, my mother told a friend, in my presence, that my 1944 Excelsior 2-stroke was "a a stage Ralph is going through".  Right, mother.

I have 3 (2 are Guzzis). Working on number 4. I work at a bike shop and i tell customers all the time that getting bike 2 was a tough sell to the wife. Number 3 was easy. She agrees number 4 is a good idea too. I have a ways to go to catch some of you
