Lowered T3?

My brother is looking at a T3 that has been apparently lowered.

He's going to look at it again on Saturday. From what we can tell the rear shocks are shorter (I believe they should be 13in) but we can't figure out if the front end has also been lowered and if so, how?

On my 850T there is about 5.5in between the top of the slider and the bottom of the triple clamp. He'll check the T3 out for this too.

If the forks have been lowered what is the typical way this would be done? The tubes have not been raised so it must be internal? Shorter springs? Shortened internals?

I think there is an issue with lowering the rear. I believe the final drive oil works its way up too easily to the joint making an oily mess. I could be wrong, but that's my understanding. Unless the bike is lowered via lower profile tires and/or smaller diameter wheels.

The front... not sure, I've only seen people lowering the front by moving up the tubes, but I don't think it would be overly complicated to modify the tubes and cartridges maybe to accomplish all that.

So all in all, I didn't answer your question..  - Though, the oil thing in the back is likely a real fact.

     The rear T3 shock stock eye to eye length is 12.75 inches.

Here's the scoop, straight from the guy that did the work, Joe Kenny.

Hi Charlie     All that's been done to lower it is shorter rear shocks, the seat and lower profile tires.  I’ve been all through the bike, Timing chain, Gilardoni cylinders, clutch, ujoint, swingarm bearing.  I kept a maintainance log folder of everything that was done to the bike and when, ask Pat for it. That was going to be her main traveling bike but she still liked the Loop Frame better. Nothing was done to the forks to lower it.
