Let's see some cafe racers!!!
« on: June 01, 2008, 09:08:41 PM »
I was in London in April and made it to the famous Ace Cafe and had a blast!!  Lots of cool bikes and riders from all over.  I love the cafe racer style and think Guzzis make some of the coolest cafes!!!

LET"S SEE YOUR CAFES!!!!

CX100

KZ1000 - Mad Max Replica

Needs MFP otherwise nice somewhere in Japan you can get a replica right down to the graphics. Remember an interview with Steve Bisley (the actor that played Goose) couple of years ago 20th aniversary of MMII or similar he was saying how back in the day he could ride a bit. For example he did all Gooses riding as well as one of the bike gangs members he did say they hurt quiet a few people making the movie though. Can't say I'm really into clebs or actors but that got my attention, he is the real deal.

Always thought Cafe bikes should have caught on better than they did.  My V7 Sport was intended for that vein.

The bike prior was an SL350 Honda with a Pacifico fairing, Honda 500/4 front end with a Kimtab snowflake mag wheel (what started the whole project), modified Honda 750 gas tank with 305 Hawk rubber pads, and a generic race seat.  Sorry I never took pictures of it. It was IMHO a decent effort.

Where can one get a "cafe racer" seat that would work on a tonti frame?  I'm also looking for some fork gaiters.  Thanks!

Keep the cafes coming!  They are too cool!

A gorgeous little black '63 CB-77 was my first "real" motorcycle.

At an honest 105 mph, it would outrun (and did outrun) any street-legal Harley I encountered in those days.

I really miss that bike . . . some early habits linger on:  48 years later I'm still enjoying "dusting" Harleys in the twisties as I ride yet another bike that few people have heard of !!

Man, an Ambassador 850 - now that's a rare one!  ;D Ambassador = 750, Eldorado = 850 (unless someone has done a "bitsa" bike like my own '72 V7 Special/Ambassador 1000).

Not necessarily a Cafe Racer, but rather my approximation to it with what I had, back in 1984..

Here's my Bonneville and my Stone.  The Stone will get paint as soon as riding season is over and money is there.
