Morris 8 was a good example - wouldn't pull a proverbial hen off its nest. Plus the vacuum wipers made it interesting to drive in the rain

Ah luxury the Jowett bradford a commercial load carrying vehicle with 5Hp which was still available new up until the early 50's for the terminally masochistic.

When you compare the original 'Top Gear' to the sad, limp American version, it's easy to see how they 'dumbed' it down for the US audience...a shame...

My uncle was a plumber and taught Roy me to drive in his van, pretty sure it was a Bradford. 3 speed column shift with no synchro on first gear made for fun gear shifts double de-clutching.

Friends old man had a Morrie 8, he got me to drive him from Nelson to Motueka I'm pouring rain once to visit someone. An epic journey for a young lad I remember having to stop ever ten minutes while he relieved himself. Probably the result of my erratic driving lol.
