wondering how you ended up setting up this bike? You show 2015 Griso in your signature...does that mean she found a home? What farkles did you end up with?

A tourable Griso seems to be a siren in my dreams, you see. Reading of others success or otherwise is helpful.

Thanks Kidsmoke...a few pics to share, I'm very happy with the setup and yes the Griso did make it to my stable on a permanent basis earlier in the year...too good of a deal to pass up after all!

I put some lowered Knight design pegs on, changed the grips to Progrips for more comfort, replaced the standard Dart Screen with a Dart Marlin (better airflow for me...quiet and no turbulence), added the rear bag and side bags on a permanent basis, put a little air cushion on the seat and installed a Beetle map.  After doing the first service right around 1000 miles, it's running beautifully smooth...very comfortable riding...and quite addictive!  Put a little mount for my cellphone for navigation as well or sometimes for my SPOT device and also added a Throttlemeister, although I admit I don't use the cruise control much, even on long rides.  Strapped my tent, sleeping bag on the back portion of the seat, secured by Rokstraps and all good to go all day long!

I do have a tank bag ring also ready to mount so i can switch the Givi Tank bag from the Norge to the Griso as needed...another project for a future weekend.  I'm also quite pleased to see that I'm getting about 160 miles before the reserve light comes on and that's about 4 gallons of usage, so MPG results have been pretty good to even in the early stages here.

Added 10 Liters of gas
Knight Design Lowered footpegs
Corban seat
Top Box
Small tank bag
GPS
Lexan Headlight Protector

Added a decent pair of horns, I have since turned them horizontal to make self draining.

Replaced the toaster grill and added a lump of rubber mat to deflect rocks

The rear suspension is not up to much rough road work, I had to have it re-filled when I got back

Re Fuel Range
Having run out of gas several times on the trip I can say with some confidence,
Range on the tank alone is 355 km or (221 miles)
When the low level light comes on I have 75 km or (46 miles) remaining

I like the way the odometer comes on shortly after the light does and counts up to 75 (46)

  :whip2:

Nicely done both of yous guys.
Love that gas can shelf, Roy.

Seems that other than the seat and the exhaust, which neither of you messed with, the KD dropped pegs is at the top of the list for mods on these machines.

Roy on the toaster cover....I know there are a hand full of aftermarket options there as well. One I've seen actually closes it off from airflow. Is that your aim here? or cosmetics?

The shelf is just a simple "L" shape fixed to the passenger pegs with a couple of worm drive hose clips.
I used ROK straps to snug them up against the bags, just sprayed the 5L cans black to blend in with the bike.
1 5L can gave me the same range as my buddies Super Ten

I think the toaster just looks bad, i used a lump of 1/4" mesh on the front snd drilled what you see from 18 gauge.

The 2v 4v 8v goofed me up for a while. A 2v head is a 4v Griso, a 4v head is an 8v Griso... Lol

As for touring, I've added 1" bar risers, 1" knight lowered pegs and a small Dart fairing, and as others have said adjusted the suspension. I haven't done more than 3 days, but I find the Griso very comfortable. If doing long distance or major miles or days I'd just want to add a better wind screen.

You look like you've gone within a Bee's dick of blanking it if completely, why not just remove it ?
Especially since you have indicated (correctly) that it looks pox..although most seem to disagree.
Furthermore...
Those holes look about 1/2" dia.
There's about 39 of them, that's about 6 square inches of area give or take. A patch 2"x3" if you will.
Just give it the flick, your eyes will thank you for it..
BTW
In the shot showing the horn fitment, what am I seeing the looks like a piece of cut off tube, and what is all the shit and corruption on the header..?

I tried to make the air outlet ~ same size as the air inlet.
That's the relay hanging on the header, sort of melted.
The new location is bolted to the top of one horn, painted flat black they are barely visible under the tank cheek, may not look pretty but that wasn't why I fitted them.

Some of you will probably recognise that slightly dodgy looking reprobate in the first pic with his helmet off...

That is essentially what Brad does with his. Big tank bag, waterproof duffel on the back.

- Dart Piranha screen as I like my helmet in clear air.
- Hepco Becker CBow mounts with soft bags.  Easily removable so I can take them into the hotel at night.
- Kaoko Throttle lock.
- large duffle with built in rain cover.

^ mjp, that looks like an ideal set-up on a Griso, & what I'd do if I wanted to carry more than what goes into the duffle bag.

As it is I mount rack and H&B 40 liters Junior hard bags on the roadster for that sort of travel. Ungainly but practical….

Most excellent the way this thread has sprung back to life. lots of effort being spent making the Griso a touring bike. Must be a reason, and I
suspect it's the same reason I'm lurking: having a hot bike to ride once the tent is up....

Different strokes for different folks and all that.. but for some, riding to a rally and back is all they want. Personally, I like to get away from central Indiana's straight roads and have a bike that is fun to ride once I get *to* the rally.

The Griso is an amazing bike...and it looks like a piece of art.

Had a nice ride last weekend on the Griso with Tom on his Stelvio, we had perfect weather, even ran into a guy riding a red Stelvio so it was a trifecta of Guzzis, and then Saw another V7 on the way back home.

The Griso gets a lot of looks...and it’s a thrill to ride.
