Any kind of marsupial floats my boat.

Imagining a new motorcycle and what I would do to it to make it more "mine."
Also, not working!

My favorite thing? I like my Dogs, they're always happy to see me, loyal to the end. Schnauzers are special that way

I like elephants too, it saddens me to see them exploited in circus arenas. I'm glad those traditions are changing.

Just the usual stuff.
Guzzis (mine), girls (mine of course!), grappa (ah, those three G's!), champagne, trappist beers, Islay single malts.
Elaboration superfluous.

Besides my family, K class flat bottoms. The race starts around 2:12. I have a flat bottom, but not a K, I just like to watch them.

Adidas Sambas
Don't know why. Go down the sports shop look what's on offer, invariably leave with another pair of black and white Sambas. I must love them, never really given it much thought.

Sonoran Desert.
Pastry.
The manifestation of torque - in all things.
The languages, Arabic and English though Arabic is a frustratingly fleeting thing with me.
Single malts - highland only. No peat please.
Well crafted knives.
Marksmanship - every single component of it.
A slightly unpredictable though dedicated dog. The boring ones add little to my life.
Campfires or bonfires - hey, point of fact, excluding torque, everything above can be combined in one fine activity.
Todd.

Thanks Seth . An old GF and I were at the Tulsa zoo in 1970 . One of the baby elephants escaped from the habitat and walked right up to us . Momma wasn't far behind , not much the handlers could do to stop her . We remained calm , and Mom didn't seem to get overly excited when her baby gave us a hug with its trunk . Amazing creatures , and that taught me a great lesson .

OK, not mentioning anything relating to motorcycles.
The never-ending love of a misfit Chewennie rescue dog.
Coffee in the morning. Ice cold beer later in the day.
Waking up before sunrise in the summer, to watch the fog burn off a lake in Alabama.
Good salsa.
The smell of fresh cut grass. The smell of bacon and eggs.
Feel of an old S&W .38 revolver, the trip of the glass smooth trigger, and seeing a 10 in the spotting scope.
Sharp cheese
Old friends. From 1st grade, that you still know.
Huge trees--that have been there for hundreds of years.
Home-made ice cream.
Happy ducks. A parrot that talks to you. The fact that there are elephants in the world.

I don't know that I have favorites.
But I did like flying my RF5B for 6 years or so (www.rf5b.com). I liked its lines & simplicity--yet, thoughtful design. Being able to shut off the engine, feather the prop and fly indefinitely, or fly just above the trees along the ridges of the Cascades. Even on days with very little lift, I enjoyed running the engine at a low rpm just enough to sustain altitude, then work my way up the face of a cliff or mountain using the scant lift that was there.
My (long gone) '69 European version, 911S Porsche. (Was a massive purchase in the early 70's of $4200.)
Vintage roadsters.
Vintage engines where you can see many of the moving parts....and ones that are as much art as functional.
Long, sleek, stately wooden yachts.
People who know their craft so well, it's hard to decide if it's a craft or art.
Language that uplifts or teaches you something new.
Morning or late afternoon light.
Moments of unplanned, non-ego-driven kindness.
Tolerance.

Can't say i love elephants. I haven't had enough to do with them. I admire them though. My father had a thing about elephants. When I asked him why he told me of their virtues. Much to admire there.
My favourite things? A number of things popped into my mind.
Sitting round a fire, esp an outside one, with friends and a good port.
Camping and camping gear, especially tents.
Labradors and other good natured dogs.
Lakes rivers mountains and the sea.
A good road trip without time limits on a bike.
Things like this,

Clouded Leopards are beautiful, endangered cats found in southeast asia. The markings are unique to cats. Huge rosettes. Males top out around 35 pounds, females closer to 30. They come in 2 distinct colors. The background or field color is either a light buff or orange. Two different species that evolved at different locations.
They can rotate their "thumbs" to enable them to climb DOWN trees. Zoos have never been able to mate them in captivity. That's the big drawback. But gawd are they beautiful. You can now buy a Savannah cat that goes 35 pounds and is lanky and tall for $20,000 or so. Or get a mangy one for $10,000. If they could breed clouded leopards in captivity and domesticate them after a few generations they would sell many of them. They did it with the asian leopard cat and an egyptian mau. Now we have the bengal cat, which goes for big bucks.
Imagine putting your 35 pound clouded leopard on a leash and taking it for a walk. It might rip the leash out of your hand at the first sight of a squirrel though.
Chuck's google link is outstanding and clearly shows the two different colors.
-
My sister in law has some of those hybrid cats @ her wolf sanctuary, beautiful animals, but not what I'd consider a good "pet" that's how she ends up with them, she adopts the animals after people find out how "wild" they still are. This is "Pussy Galore"
