$9000 would be a bargain based on the two pictures even if it needed another used cylinder head, sourced overseas.

How much does a V85TT cost in Australia.
If it does not say 'Ride away add more costs.

https://www.bikesales.com.au/bikes/moto-guzzi/v85-tt/

Even globally finding used might be tricky
I was just going to weld fins on
It is the unknown that I couldn’t budget on, yes I’d pay 10 if pictures tell complete story
But  I bought a “hail damaged” van from same site recently
Not in pics was damage caused by beer delivery driver chucking kegs in, still worth what I paid but was a bit peeved when I actually saw it. Photos are to sell

There was a v85 on here that had top end ripped off, worst case in this was crankcase broken, studs pulled out, never seen on a BB but I’ve seen what’s possible on v85

Of course there was damage all over the bike too, perfect project to attack with an angle grinder, lose all the artificial weight the stylist added (and the abs, tv screen dash, sky high pillion seat, bull bar etc etc)
Love the bike , hate the weight and styling
Another one will come up

Start at AUD 21,000 then start adding...and adding...You can get rid of another 10 grand if you’re keen.

Aint that the truth.
Plus there arent enough on the ground to be able to test ride first, thats here in Brisbane and everything is an add on.
The main reason I ended up on a Triumph Tiger.

Almost exact opposite, test ride was easy, actually in UK, but could’ve in Melbourne
Don’t want any add ons, it’s paying for 20kg I’d throw away that gets me
Some mandated in Europe (but not here) like abs pump and cat
But tv screen, extra headlight, screen, bull bar, tubes,  rack/grab rail thing that bruised my shin getting on , second disc and caliper , eagle fairy light, plastic tank covers (really?)  and no doubt loads more all add to cost
If I could buy one without them with their rrp off price, I’d jump in
So I’ll wait for another crashed one or just a used one in year or so

Mate in Brisbane south side won it, he will sell his current blue one and restore the red and white one. Should owed him 10g when he's finished.

can't really tell because it's just a screen grab but wouldn't you worry about frame damage? The busted fins are from a crash. Right?

Not me , I was out $1500 before, as soon as I saw there were two others playing I knew it would get silly, just bidding each other up, so best of luck.
Hope it’s different up there, here we have to pay for a VASS certificate to clear the write off status.
That’s another $750 and a day you don’t get back.
I bought a Ducati Scrambler in much better nick than that but paid too much at $6500 , unaware of VASS thing, still have it , maybe should sell in QLD?
My budget to fix was a length of 3mm flat alloy from Bunnings, some cutting , filing and welding
Then attack it with the diet grinder, there’s a lovely bike hiding under all that gross

I reckon something’s been dropped on it from above.
How could you do so much damage to the head fins in a crash and leave the cylinder ones relatively unscathed ?

Only need to pass safety inspection up in Qld. I will check it out and decide what to do when it arrives.
Scratches go up and down so a fall I guess. Will keep informed.
                  Cheers Wayne.
