Guzzi V7 III
« on: December 13, 2018, 05:38:03 PM »
Stopped by an Indian/Guzzi dealer today.

The youngest (Seamus) should be big enough to ride with us soon and if we're riding as a family my pillion is already taken with his big sis, so Jenn is considering a second bike for her (other than the Duc) to add a topcase/backrest and use for pillion duty.

Looks like a V7 III could be a serious contender.

We specifically went to take a look at some V7 Stones today, but after perusing them all (Stone, Special, Stornello, Milano, Rough... etc.), She found herself drawn to one more than the others and took that for a test ride.

No decisions made yet as she's also considering a new Street Twin, but I'm hopeful lol.

KOF, fingers crossed.

Fubar, hmmm gotta re-read how I wrote that up, maybe I assumed too much. My YOUNGEST is about to turn 5. Jenn, (my WIFE) is shopping for a second bike so she can take our son (Seamus) as a pillion while I take his big sis (Fiona) as my pillion (she's already been riding with me for a while).

So I'd say "cool husband" but really I'm mostly a kept man.  :boozing:

Any thoughts of waiting for a spin on the V85?  Looks like a good pillion setup off the floor.

Will be lots of fun no matter what she picks! Off topic. Dealer seems to have a lot of bikes but the walls are bare?

V85 would be too tall and too ugly (by her standards). A LeMans spinoff could be interesting, and maybe more in her wheelhouse but honestly it wouldn't be offering anything more that we'd "need".

Dealer is new, open only since October, a second branch of the Indian/Guzzi dealer just outside NYC that seems to have close ties to Piaggio, NA.

BUT DAMN the Indian side is less bare.

Wayne? Isn't that where the Sport Spot used to be?
I remember going there a long, long time ago in a universe far, far away.

Tell her that anyone can ride a Triumph, but it takes a special person to ride a Guzzi.

Kev, would a side can on the Road king possibly be an option. That would fit the whole clan.

This is a new location off the service road on Rt. 23.

Your correct about riding Triumph's. I've owned plenty. No comparison to a Moto Guzzi!

I'll throw a side can (car  :boozing:) on the Sporty if it comes to that, but no, no way I'm ruining my RK.  :thewife:

And I don't think she's there either.

Really, what's wrong with a 5th bike?!?

On the southbound side just before the big NJ Transit hub and Rt 80. That's where I purchased my 2017 V7 Stone. Nice sales people but have yet to try their service dept.

Well, I can't say about their Wayne location, but the West Chester location (granted it was a Thursday a week or so before X-mass), seems to have ONE bored mechanic (literally shop was almost empty) and since he hasn't been to Piaggio training yet (which they said is only held once a year) PIAGGIO wants to pay them only $1/hour on warranty work.

You can't make this shyte up!

EDIT - in other news, seeing this thread on my desk computer this morning I seriously need to take a look at my phone camera settings cause some of those shots are HORRIBLY BLURRY! (Or I'm tired, but probably blurry).

That's why in the Guzzi world, you GO to the reputable dealer/mechanics, and don't wait for them to come to you.  They won't know shyte after a 1 week Piaggio school.  For us in NJ, if you can't do it yourself, Hamlin's is the closest real-deal.

I know the owner of both locations. His business is mainly Indian. He took on MG when Motorcycle Mall in Bellville gave it up. He has done a good job selling MG's at that location. I've yet to bring my V9 in for service. I did own an Eldorado I bought from Eurosports in Coppersburg, PA and they have a great service department.

5 kev?  Dang!  I'll have to get one more to keep up!

BTW-I hacked one of my 865 Bonnies for my then 9 year old boy.  He rode in it for 2 years and then wanted nothing to do with motorcycles-plays soccer 12 months a year.  I enjoyed it but the moment he wanted out I sold it to a guy with a young boy.

I was born and raised in Toms River!
I guess it is a small world.
Now I live in flat, flat Illinois.

My only constant is Italian motorcycles. I'd say Guzzi, but at certain times I have only owned Morinis (and Triumphs).

No, it’s not.  Way to crowded.  But I still have family up there.  I moved 20 miles south to Manahawkin in 1996.  Much nicer down here, with a population of about 27,000 year round and the beach is just as close.

I left in 1978. Except for the occasional visit, I don't get back much. I have fond memories of riding in the Pine Barrens and runs to the northwest portion of the state. That was in my pre-Guzzi days.

Is it any wonder they can't keep dealers.
