V7 - Popping on deceleration
« on: October 20, 2017, 03:22:52 AM »
Hey all,

I have beetle's map, new plugs and plug boots, cleaned injectors, and agostini shorty slip-ons on my 2012 (Aussie) 1tb v7r. But I get popping on decel (coming down Sydney road it echos pretty bad).

It's not super annoying, but I wondered if this was just part of the Guzzi character, and there's really no fix? Or if there's something else I could do to fix it?

Thanks Beetle - would greatly appreciate your thoughts. I'm still learning a lot of stuff.

Remind me which map you have and I’ll tweak it to reduce the popping.

Popping on deceleration is related to one of two things:

1)  Lean idle mixture.
2)  Exhaust leak.

I'm sure Beetle will be able to fatten your idle mixture to eliminate/reduce your popping on decel.

Also tighten the inlet manifold clamps. I noticed mine were surprisingly loose. Popping improved after doing this but was still there. For finding air leaks try this....    http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=92492.0

ok Beetle sent me a modified map. I'll install it tomorrow and see if that helps.
And check for airleaks..
