Choke pickup tube o-ring
« on: August 02, 2019, 09:06:47 AM »
Why do the Dellorto VHB29 carbs need an o-ring on the choke pick-up tube or they run rich? My experience is mostly with Keihin and Mikuni carbs that don't use this o-ring and on them when the choke plunger is closed no fuel can get thru the choke circuit. What is the difference?

I've wondered about that too. I mean it is just stuck down there in the fuel. Why would it care if there is an o-ring on it, it will still pick up the same fuel.

I've been running my bikes for years without the o-ring. No carb problems!

The earliest VHBs had no o-ring there and didn't have issues with running rich.
