Convert seat mount
« on: September 25, 2019, 05:02:53 PM »
I need to ask for help in this. I have a 78 T3 and am mounting the seat ala a Convert. Without the T3 grab bars.  I have the 2 pieces, the "C" piece that fixes the seat to the rear holes in the Tonti frame and the other one. I am not quite sure how to assemble that. It looks like the seat will mount higher. Do you drill a hole in the fender to hold the "C" part to the bike? Pics would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The "C" shaped bracket does mount to the fender.

This is the best I can do without removing the seat.

Thanks Charlie. If I am seeing it correctly I do see a bolt that goes through the top of the fender and through the "C" bracket. Can you get one from the side?

Sorry, but there's no view from the side - the plastic tail section hides it. If it weren't such a PITA to remove and reinstall the tail section, I would, to shoot a photo.

The "C" bracket angles towards the rear, the two tabs where the tail section mount are about parallel with the frame rails when it's at the correct angle. Mount it up and angle it back until the seat latches properly and that's where it needs to be.
