Painful outcome...seems like the Packers were asleep today...they were dropping balls like crazy.

Dusty
Edit , apparently Pittsburgh forgot there is a game today also

Four best teams in football and two blow outs?

Yeah tell me about it, just finished watching the Steelers/Patriots game.

Disappointed that both games weren't closer - hope the bowl is a better game
-
Glad I spent the time productively in the garage instead. I hope it's sunny on Super Bowl Sunday so I can go riding and have the roads all to myself.

Playoffs?? Spring training doesn't start for another few weeks!!
-
Take heart - maybe Bret Favre will make another movie!
-
It was a good run. Atlanta came to play ball, not sure what we were doing. We will be rooting for the Falcons two weeks from now.

MM = Michael Miller = Tazio :afro:

I think the Patriots are favored by only 3 points for the Superbowl, so that game should be close.
-
Go Falcons!!

How about us Steelers fanatics who live in Packerland? Oy...
I'm a little resentful of that patriot guy up there, but I will try to be a bigger person. No sense whining I guess.
I got to say, both winning teams looked strong and well coached. it's going be a good Super Bowl.

My homies are spreading the rumour that the guy who set off the fire alarm at the Steelers hotel the night before the big game was arrested, and he had 5000 bucks and an autografted photo of Tom Brady in his wallet.....

Since Wales MA only has 7 or 8 people, u must be the only Guzzi in town (EX big city of N. Brookfield).

Packer were playing dinged up. Running backs for the Falcons and the Pats played like giant war bots. Damn they could run with guys hanging off of them. Not sure a healthy team could have won.
In theory the game should be close, but as much as I dislike the Patriots and their coach, he knows how to strategize and make star players out of pedestrian players. I think it's their game to lose. That said, I know little about the Falcons and what I saw when they played the Packers was pretty darn good. They probably have a better chance than most to beat the Pats.
ditto the comment about the Pack playing like the Vikings. so so true.

N. Brookfield? Small world.
And yeah, and the ratio is high since we have 7 of 'em, so almost enough for every man, woman, and child.. :cheesy:

Football?
Wasn't the Sugar Bowl the last game played?
S-E-C <<<<<<<sux>

Huh? I'm from eastern Mass, but visit a former co-worker in Brookfield.
Given the tiny genetic spread out there, you must be their brother, or uncle, or someting like that.
Joe (from civilization (i.e. not Brookfield))

Well, as an x-Massachusettian for the time being, I wish you all well with the upcoming storms. Do you think Guzzis mounted between canoes would work? Well, hope the Pats win, since the Bruins seem posed to self destruct early this season.
-
I like the Pack, or more specifically, Aaron Rogers. They could have caught everything he threw up there and it wouldn't matter. The defense couldn't plug a small hole in the dike. About 1/3 of the team is on the injury list, I think. Defense was decimated by injury. I never though they could stop Atlanta and they didn't. Steelers sucked period.

There's a dusty old trophy in my garage from 1964, Lashaway Kart Track, North Brookfield Mass, NE Championship (1st Place, A Stock Light).
-
Formerly Norwood MA - Go Pats!
-
Seems appropriate this thread would draw out all the New Englanders.
Formerly of Chicopee, then Andover Ma, then Exeter NH. Whole family still resides out there.
Interesting that folks often acknowledge the skill of the Pats brain trust, all the while speaking to their venomous hatred of the franchise.
As a kid who worshiped Grogan/Francis/Morgan/Hannah/Cunningham/ Minimac Herron..... Hard to feel for them.
Go Pats.
-
Bobdar greetings:
That dirt track was before my time there. Lashaway (for the few out there who don't know the Magnificent Brookfields of Massachusetts), is the name of a major Lake (a bit bigger than a pond) that now borders the Town of North Brookfield and the breakaway town of East Brookfield. (The break took place in colonial times when a church congregation split, with one moving to the southern end of the above named lake. The Inn of the same name was most recently gutted and made into an excellent dining spot. I'm guessing the go kart venue was up at the north end of the lake where Camp Lashaway is now located?. Anyhow, congrats on the trophy!! And an obligatory GO PATS!
-
I think that extra game caught up both wild card teams.
Of course that might be why the were wild card teams in the first place, not as good as the teams that got byes.
